Could I date a woman significantly dumber than myself? Sure, in the short term and casually. Not being as smart doesn't mean she won't be sweet and fun to be around.

But long term in a serious relationship it feels like I'm taking care of an adult child and our interests would likely be vastly different along with having to slow down conversations and explain a lot of things she's simply not interested in. I'm sure the things she finds interesting wouldn't hold my attention for long either.

I think if I'm gonna get serious with a woman, it's gonna be someone who can keep with and challenge me. Mind, body, spirit. I want it all.

the first time i realized, i was smarter than my girl friend was in pre-school because she asked me to read her book to her. so no problem for me, dating less smart. also the blond joke is relevant. better if she is simple minded. also that attitude "think i'm clearly smarter" is too arrogant for me.

later i had my official iq test in pre-school 5. i never considered "not dating less intelligent" but if that was the rule, none would be left! i would need to turn down everyone, so i have no choice but to be humble and hide my intelligence.

I almost always dated girls who were smarter than me. I certainly married one. Somewhere along the line I dated somebody who was not very smart. She was fun to be with at first but after a while it was not all that great.

I'd be bored within minutes, so no, I couldn't do it. As Confucius is known to have said:" If you're the smartest person in the room, you're in the wrong room". I believe that.
