How much does money actually matter to women in dating?

I think it really depends on how serious she wants to get with you, for women in your age range (assuming that's who you're going after). I think if they don't have those plans, it doesn't matter much except to certain high maintenance kinda gold diggery types or to women from a certain social class who might want to stay with guys like them. Casual dating or a bit more serious dating (without the goal of marriage and kids at all or not for a while) is more about your personality and how bangable you are, than your wallet by far. Though if they want to marry someone relatively soon, and even more if they want children in a shortish future, they're going to place a lot more importance on your financial stability, salary, degree of having your shit togetherness, etc. But still there $ it's not everything at all, but it's more important for sure.

I just shook my head at him and walked away bc he had no manners and just wanted to do whatever tf popped into (and onto) his head.

If you were a woman and you had these 2 options, which would you choose.

• First guy is approaching 30 with no career just bouncing from one hourly wage job to another. Crappy car. Crappy apartment. Date nights are pizza and Netflix. Vacations are not part of the deal. He has no idea what a 401K is. He lives paycheck to paycheck.
• Second guy is approaching 30 with an MBA, a job at an investment bank, a 2 year old BMW, owns a starter home, and date nights are pretty much anything you want to do. Vacations are very much a part of the deal. So is a 401K with $200,000 in it because this guy is serious about financial security.

Assume both guys are good looking and have great personalities. Why would any rational woman choose the first guy?

Quite a lot. About 40% of the attraction. Your ability to make money now or in the future. Its a biological trait to want a provider. Nothing wrong with that. However dont get fooled into a trap thinking that women shouldn't meet basic requirements too, like femininity, fertility, virginity etc etc.

At what point is this becoming an issue? Because that's the tell. No decent woman will ask about your money situation on a first date. The closest she might get to that is asking you, "what do you do" for a job. If a woman asks you how much you make, you can end the date, she's trash.
