I personally have lots of guy friends, some close, some casual that are like real brothers to me. So I would go with yes; but that’s one opinion.

Only if there’s no attraction at all. Unrequited love is painful. It’s not a true friendship if someone is taking advantage of another who is pining and unfulfilled by mere “friendship”. And they always are taking advantage because the one in love invariably gives more than the one who friend zoned them.

Of course they can. I've had many friendships like that. But those friendships usually last only until one of them gets a boyfriend/girlfriend or gets married after that, they're often doomed to fade away.

That's common enough to me, and the best case scenario when both parties know they aren't romantically interested yep. Even a vague attraction (on my end) may work with me, when I'm projecting that a relationship with them wouldn't be a cool thing to have
