apparently this is a thing now. so in short this is an online dating trend where someone intentionally downplays their looks or status—using unflattering photos, outdated pictures, or omitting successes—to ensure potential matches like them for their personality rather than superficial traits.

The problem is what is it was that down played look that attracted the guy in the first place? Many men don't like the heavy makeup fake look and prefer a more natural presentation. He's going to be disappointed when you turn up looking like Kardashions got a job as an air stewardess.
