Is it normal that friends overshare intimate preferences with me?

I remember when a girl I did not know very well told me she likes mysterious bad boys. And I am thinking, is it normal to be that revelatory with people?

I never tell my friends anything I would not feel comfortable being advertised on a public billboard in Times Square New York City.

I do not discuss things like racial preferences, kissing, etc… My life is 100% prudent and boundary restricted.
