30 years ago we did not have social media, email or video conferencing. Even telephone calls were expensive. There were no dating sites and so called computer dating was not very successful. However, people did not have unrealistic expectations and there was more face to face contact.

Yeah. Folks today act as though the world is really fully open to them so they never really need to choose a partner, which isn't accurate.
There are more ways to meet someone today, but dating is pretty much the same as it's been for centuries.
People sure make it sound like it is. I've never in my life done anything or gone anywhere with the intention of trying to meet anyone though. I just met people naturally all three times. If I was actually going out of my way to try to, maybe I'd find it more difficult but I've got other priorities. If I stumble into a guy like the last one then ok but I'm not specifically looking.
If you talk to strangers online whom you can't see their face then obviously its going to be harder but in the general sense I don't think dating is harder than previous eras because good people give good experiences and bad people give bad experiences when it comes to dating and life in general.
I have no idea because I met my wife 32 years ago and we have been married for almost 30 years. That was before internet, cell phones and on-line dating.
For attractive people - no. For the average person - maybe? But if used right it is a better opportunity
Yes, because of the new toxicity from all sides.
Yes, I definitely agree.
