Consider me a cheap date. I like to go out and just have a good time. I know what foods I like and I don't need some overpriced bougie Michelin star restaurant to enjoy myself out. I'll order an appetizer, a food I'm feeling for, and a pitcher of beer. That's as much as I'm willing to spend. And if the girl is not a traditional girl and believes in equality, then she can pay her own bill.

I'm not cheap, at all, when it comes to dating. I'm the kind of boyfriend that likes buying a girl gifts, and treating her well.

However, I'm also not going to spend that kind of money on anyone, right out of the gate, either. I'm a little more conservative at the beginning of a new relationship. Not cheap, but I don't spend extravagantly on a woman unless we're in a committed relationship, first.

I'm certainly not laying down loads of cash for a woman on the first date, or anyone that's currently also dating five other guys. That's just idiotic. You have to earn that privilege by being exclusive, first.

I live in a cafe precinct and it varies from places that slap the food out, to couple dining rooms with glass walls so you can be seen spending a lot of money on the experience. I won't go to that extreme.

I more like the cafes that have run by the same family for 50 years or so that have comfortable bonhomie. Part of the experiential side is to walk along the chain, look at the menus and the specials. Girls seem to like agonizing over food choices. Don't rush them.

Since homo erectus, eating together has part of human bonding so the atmosphere is important and best of all it is free!

I aim for good but cheap with atmosphere.

I don't think a date has to be expensive or cost a lot, it just needs to be a day that can be enjoyed.

If a woman is too focused on a fancy restaurant and seeing him spend spend spend then she's not really interested him him.

A date can be anything from a picnic or coffee to bowling or cinema, depending if you want to chat and get to know each other or hardly chat but having a nice evening.

Aslong as the person who making the date does their best to make it a lovely evening for the date then it doesn't matter, if the date doesn't cost a lot

ohm yeah. One time I took my future wife on a date to the city. We went to a real tourist trap place whare there were several restaurants that had undersized portions at over inflated prices. I suggested that we go to an Italian grocery store that my father used to take me when I was little. We could get something to eat there. She thought it was a great idea. So we go in the store and buy a couple of sub rolls and some cold cuts and a couple of cans of soda and a bag of chips.
We made sandwiches and sat outside on a bench and te them. While we sat there a couple of people asked us where we got the sandwiches.

I'm frugal, arguably i'm down right CHEAP. But a special occasion is a special occasion. I hate the term "YOLO". But in this case it's true. If it's a first date i'll probably choose a place nice enough to make a good first impression. And pay using a coupon if i have one. Because that is ALSO my M. O. If that's a turnoff for her then it's best she see that and it be the first and last date. Because i'm not changing.👍🤣 If she's down with that. Then there's a good chance we're like minded people.

You can't take money with you when you expire. Money is just a tool. But it's a necessary tool in this world. The money i spend is proportionate to the money i have. If i don't have money to spend i don't date. If i date i'm going to do my best to see to it that we enjoy ourselves.

My husband doesn’t let me pay for anything when we go out to eat, but I do prefer going to cheaper to moderately priced places cause I don’t like to feel like I’m making him spend a lot.

I like trying new things and stepping out of my comfort zone. I don't desire for expensive things but I also invest in my own retail happiness - as well as I have no problem dropping $$$ on a date
