This girl always helped me on when I was in trouble. And I heard she found me attractive. I also have an interest in her and she was sending indirect hints my way in the beginning. So I decided to get her a gift of appreciation for helping me and I told her how I felt. I said, “I like you but if it’s not like that then it’s cool.” She had an awkward look on her face. Later when she got home, she sent a text thanking me for the gift. She went on vacation for 3 weeks and when she came back she told me she got me a bottle of liquor. Which I didn’t ask for, but I appreciate the fact she did that. She already knows of how I felt 2 times, but haven’t really addressed it. Should I cut my loses. I haven’t asked her out as of yet. But I mean she could easily herself if I would like to hang out since she clearly had an interest in me. She hasn’t given me the bottle yet and I feel like she’ll bring it to work and pass it to me. But the thing is she lives like 2 mins around the corner from me. I can easily pick it up or she can drop it off. This weighing on my conscience heavily. I rather give up and I haven’t even started anything

Yes I had to be direct, but she would confirm. Twice is more than enough, IMHO one time (or even 2 times) too many.

Agreed. She could be the avoidant or fearful type, to ask again after allowing things to develop could be a solid move. She could've had bad experiences, so being persistent to her indicates sincerity.
