I’m talking to a guy. He told me he was in a four-year relationship. They broke up two months before they were supposed to get engaged, and it’s been three years since then. He said he was the one who wanted to end the relationship. However, he constantly likes posts about heartbreak and lost love.

When we met, he talked a little about his ex and said he had moved on. He didn’t tell me her name, and I’ve been trying to find her for the past few days

Ok what’s the importance of finding her? she's his ex. Coming from a man’s point of view if you did that it would not be. A good thing. He’d almost feel betrayed. Like you’re on her side. Going behind his back. So unless he invites you into that discussion about her, her name, who she is, what she did then I’d leave it alone. Is it possible he still has feelings for her? Sure. Chances are he really wanted it to work. But he realized that no matter what it wasn’t going to work. So yes he could still be heartbroken. Some people carry that w them for a long time until they meet someone else who can cha ge their thoughts, their feelings, a better outlook on life. If she had broken up w him I’d say he probably wants to get back w her since she initiated it. Me sing he wasn’t the one who wanted to separate. But in this case he thought about it logically to separate from her. So yes I’d say co time to talk to him, treat him well, be nice, have fun, show love, affection.

I’m sorry to hear that. Maybe there’s potential later down the road. It’s probably best he made that call because had he jumped into a relationship w you it may have turned things out for the worse.
