Why am I jealous when my female best friend hangs out with other guys?

​Why do I get low-key jealous or betrayed whenever my female friend hangs out with another guy? 😅 The crazy part is she’s not even my girlfriend, just a close friend. Is it because I’m single, or is there something deeper going on?

​Guys, I really need your advice on this should I just admit to her that I’m catching feelings, or I should keep it to myself and suffer in silence? Anyone else ever been through this?

At best I would say you are just protective of her, but at worst (and not saying its a bad thing, just the most possibly dramatic one) is that you have feelings for her and want her for yourself.

You will have to ask yourself if confessing (if that's what you choose to do) is worth possibly compromising your relationship with her. She could be totally into you too or she could see it as a betrayal of a friend wanting more, and by that I just mean that a lot of us who have male friends find it awkward when our friend suddenly desires us. Kinda feels like we are losing a friend because once that cat is out of the bag it's really hard to get it back in and go to normal.

The problem I see though is the jealousy in general. If you were dating her, would you keep her from hanging out with male friends at that point?

Thanks for the honest advice. To answer your question about jealousy: no, I wouldn't try to stop her from having male friends if we were dating. I think my reaction came more from a place of insecurity or fear of being replaced rather than wanting to control her. That's definitely something I need to work on.🤦‍♀️

You already know she’s not yours. At the end of the day, she’s gonna leave with someone she actually loves. Whether you tell her how you feel or keep it to yourself, at the end of the day, it’s her choice. She’s gonna pick who she wants. So all that jealousy? It’s just you fighting reality. Accept it, let go, and be a real friend or step back. But don’t act surprised when she walks away with her guy.
