Is it too soon to ask for her number after just learning her name?

I keep crossing paths with a woman in the mornings on the way to work. We started with smiles and greetings, and recently I finally asked her name. She told me and then asked for mine too.

The problem is that we’re always moving in opposite directions and she seems to be heading for the train, so I never know whether she’s actually in a rush or just walking quickly. I don’t want to stop her and make her late, but I’d genuinely like to get to know her and ask for her number.

Would it be okay next time to briefly say that I’d like to talk to her sometime when we’re not both rushing and ask for her number? Or would you wait for a bit more conversation first?

For context, she smiles when she sees me and sometimes initiates the morning greeting, but I don’t want to read too much into that.
