Why would a guy plan dates, act interested, then suddenly pull away?

I went on two dates with this person, the first date went extremely well, he even kissed me and stuff at the end. He suggested a second date. I plan the second bc he planned the first, the second date goes extremely well, at the end of the second I suggest a third date and he give a “what the fuck” almost a taken back reaction and then proceeds to tell me “oh yeah, maybe this weekend on a Saturday, I’ll plan something.” Saturday comes around I haven’t heard a word from him for a week. I check to see what’s up and he tells me “I had a lot of fun, but it’s not gonna workout. I’m broken, incapable of developing feelings, it seems too good to be true” he’s also a marine, so it could be that he’s just an asshole bc he’s a marine. I don't know. Someone explain.

He's telling you what he is, so believe him. Could be because he's a marine, or other issues he has, but obviously he does have issues. And please for the love of God do not be like all those chicks out there who thinks it's your job to try to heal or understand him. If he's damaged, it's his responsibility to work through it.

He didn't like what he saw in those first 2 dates. He was being polite on the dates. Now he's decided to move on. Or he doesn't want a girlfriend, he just wants to date randomly. Not everyone you meet is gonna want what you want.

I know the mistake was that we did on both dates. Tbh he insinuated a relationship. I didn’t even mention about something serious, he did. Men are fucking horrible.
