The anonymous poster has it dead on here.
It took me about a month of chatting (text, voice, video) before I finally agreed to go out on a date with the guy I was talking to at the time. You just never know what you are getting into with people online and it's way better to get a feel for them before agreeing to meet and even then I still would make it a public place just so that I feel safer. Now we've been together for 3.5 years and I honestly chalk that up to the early getting to know you phase before the first date. He showed me he could be patient and genuinely liked talking and actively listening to me.
Besides, this benefits the guy too in some cases. It shows an investment from the woman too so they are less likely to just be there for a "free meal" and by the time the date does come along, if the date has gone well and we aren't getting bad vibes, we may be comfortable enough for physical intimacy.
It has nothing to do with women, it's just about the individual and how comfortable they are with meeting up with strangers. It's not much different with guys.
Personally if a guy doesn't agree to meetup later on day 2 I just delete and move on. There are too many time wasters on those apps that have no intention of meeting up for real.
Why do you waste time talking to women for weeks when it's clear they have no interest in meeting you? As soon as I got a response, I tried to set a meeting. If they weren't ready, they were a waste of time, as you are learning.
I mean hey, I’m not catching feelings. It’s just someone else I can talk to for the time being. That’s how I see it.
different experience for me...
but I do meet people out there... never used apps to date before and I don't do socials either

Meeting strangers on the internet is not really safe. It takes some time to build up some trust and a comfort level. I get men don't understand this but we have to be cautious about our physical safety out in public because men are so much physically stronger than us and one crazy one runs into us and no one ever finds us again. Not common, but it happens.
I get it, and I get that on the other side they don’t really know who I am, but I do put it out there pretty clearly on my profile and am an upstanding guy. I am very conversational. So there does come a point too where it’s like “are you ladies willing to just meet me halfway and trust that I am who I say I am?” It feels like it should be obvious on my side of things.
It quickly comes to a point where it’s not my problem, in my opinion. I’m doing all I can do.
People using dating apps are often not serious about dating. If they were, they wouldn't be wasting time with all of those scammy apps.
Quality people don't need OR use dating apps.
She's just amusing herself online when she's bored.
Because they don't want you to know they're really a 50 y. o. man.
Your timing is off. That's why
My timing is off? What does that mean? I see pretty woman and the time is now! 😆
