If guys are playing basketball with a girl "on a first date", does he always have to let her win?

rock climbing

golfing

shooting pool

air hockey

baseball

tennis

car racing

and so on etc

Ladies if the guy didn't let you win, would you be turned off?

No, it always makes me strive to be pumped and challenged! Although, he should have known in advanced that I don't ever play sports with my same gender it has to be more daring or thrilling when I versus guys because I work so much harder when versus a guy! Always need that extra push! From all that I learned from my dad, he has made me compete harder because being a girlie girl just wouldn't cut it! For example, if he told me "I hit like a girl" that would make me so furious and make me really want to punch him. By the way, I wouldn't really hit him!

I honestly am very competitive and I would want my boyfriend to be too. A cheap win wouldn't make me very happy. I usually tell them upfront if you are going to let me win don't bother saying we are competing. I was raised a daddy's girl, but some of the more girlie girls might be into a cheap win. Or just say if you win, next date you get to go to dinner and movie something you like if she wins we do something she likes.

Uh, no. I'm a woman and if I'm playing a sport with a guy on a first date, I expect him to give me his best so I can be impressed win or lose. :) In fact, I relish when my current guy does beat me in a sport because then we can talk smack at each other and get another kind of tension built up.

This might only work with women who enjoy playful competition, though. So, your mileage may vary. ;)

That's a tricky one. I remember I beat a girl friend (not girlfriend) in bowling and she told me she was glad I beat her because she was tired of guys always letting her win.

I think if you don't appear like you're not trying, I think she'll be fine if you win or lose. If she gets upset because you beat her, then she's got some issues IMO.

Nah man. I play to win! The thing with a first date is not to be too competitiive. Stay ona simililar intensity as your opponent and don't be cocky/arrogant. if she is struggling then you can teach her link link and most importantly keep it light hearted, flirt and have fun link

The standard rule is quite the opposite actually, often girls will let the guy win since they believe guys like their girls to be weak and helpless and to give the guy a macho boost

Sometimes a girl is better than a guy, it happens. What if you were going out with a girl who was a pro athlete whilst you're just a normal guy? Odds are she would beat you at a lot of stuff.
