I'm curious. It just doesn't feel the same. I'm Dominican but going out on a date with a white guy for the first time. I like learning about new cultures but it almost just feels awkward to about it. Please break it down for me. I don't know if I'm overthinking it.

He’s best described as Jekyll & Hyde. He will be overly loving and caring one day. Then the next visibly upset, won’t talk to me, and seems very irritated by my existence. Then sometimes a day or 2 later he is perfectly fine again. He will sometimes say that it’s life he is upset about, something small I have done (like leave a spoon to mix my coffee on the tray), or he is tired. It never seems to really make much sense. He is also constantly convinced I’m cheating or being secretive. His examples if you ask would be im spending more hours at the office, but the reality is I’m spending at least an hour less a day in the office because he was getting so upset. Now I leave early and finish at home. At this point it just feels like he wants to hate me or be upset with me. When I try to understand he says things that aren’t true. When I try to talk to my friends because I feel crazy they think he has serious issues and I’m his punching bag. I have quite a few examples of behavior that I can’t rationalize or understand. Like he will sit on his phone while I make dinner and clean up. As soon as I sit down to eat if I touch my phone he’ll make a comment how my attention is to everything but him. But when I try to give him my undivided attention he finds me annoying. Very confused girl over here.

I haven’t been asked out in years so I’m really in need of advice. This guy I met at a party came up to me afterwards and said I wanted to tell you you’re gorgeous and asked me on a date which I thought was sweet but now I’m hesitating

he's not physically my type. I usually go for tall men and he’s average height and so I don’t find him that attractive and the way he approached me was kind of weird now that I think about it cause he complimented my looks a couple times and that was the reason he came up to me clearly so if you were in my shoes, would you go on the date or just politely decline?

I’m currently on dating apps and I’m curious, when a man is genuinely interested in a woman and plans to go on a date with her, does he only talk to her or he continues to talk to other women? This guy I’m talking to said that im the only woman he talks to, but I find it odd because he is tall, attractive and has a great personality. I also lowkey feel bad because i talk to other guys at the same time.

I have a family friend who lives in another state
We’ve gotten closer and we’ve been texting almost everyday since August. He notices when something is wrong via text and he constantly encourages me when nursing school gets overwhelming. In September I told him, I liked him and he said that he’s proud that I’m being honest about my feelings but he’s not ready (He’s a first year resident doctor, not making excuses just stating it’s an overwhelming situation). And he hopes that his response will not affect our relationship because he really appreciate me. After that, we just carried on and kept on doing what we were doing b4 I told him I liked him. He tells me about his work, his new hobbies, he sends me pictures of his hair and his new glasses and he asked me to help him name his plants. He listens to me rant, even though he’s tired and just got back from work. He pays attention and remembers important dates I tell him, he wishes me luck before every exam and test. Recently we didn’t talk for two weeks because I had finals and honestly I was kind of isolating and he was sick and didn’t reach out but to make it up to me,
He said he was going to get me an end of semester/Christmas present and asked what I wanted. I feel like he likes me but I don’t want to have any False hope or anything.

And if you do, do you pretend that you haven't researched them, and ask them questions during the date that you already know the answers to due to your research, or do you let on that you already know stuff about them? Does the research you do about them make you more hooked/obsessed with them? Do you research them primarily to gauge whether their safe to meet in private, or because you want to know whether they're a good potential partner?

I'm just trying to see if it's as common as I think it is.

Did it hurt you ego or did you not take it personally?

I have a curly hair and i love it. However, sometimes i am in rush and it takes time and I don’t like to deal with it. Honestly, sometimes i wish we girls like men, we can cut our hair short without being judged by society etc who think girls with short hair are masculine or lesbian.
I wish if i could cut it this short, I wouldn’t say forever because i like long hair too but I’m afraid that my boyfriend would no longer likes me, also the society in general.
I wanna know why people think girls must be with long hair but it’s okay for men to with short hair. I used to think that only girls can grow long hair until i ask my boyfriend about his hair type and he repkied” men can have long hair too but we cut it because the society say that men should be with short hair”. His reply honetly opened my eyes into things i have never thought of.

I must admit right away that I'm not very interesting or fun to most people. I'm not a huge fan of travelling, exercising or just straight up being a social butterfly.

• And how much do you care about hobbies in the first place?

I don't think a guy who is in love with travelling and/or climbing could find me interesting in the first place!

• My hobbies are pretty much these:

baking (from time to time)
politics (I like to have an overview)
reading (short stories mostly)
gaming (I used to game a lot when I was younger, now I do it only occasionally)
movies (especially horror and movies from directors like Carpenter or Tarantino)
cars (not a pro but I enjoy watching races, Rallye for example, and I like to take car of my car and I enjoy car rides very much)
shopping (mostly online shopping, shopping clothes for my boyfriend or myself)
pets (we've got cats and horses, I love both, I love animals in general)

I won't lie, I'm a homebody, is that a turn off? I believe that there's nothing better than being cuddled up in bed/on a couch and enjoying a movie while eating cookies and later getting handsy with each other.

I'm just really simple, very physical and basic things make me happy... I don't need much else.

I'd only want to start going out a bit more, like a theatre or eating out at new or favorite restaurants/bistros. Plus, I have never tried bowling and I'm not the best at swimming, I want to work on that.

I study very hard to one day work for the government, the United Nations or even as a diplomat and my boyfriend knows this. He thinks I just do not belive in him and that I won't have to work at all when he becomes rich.
