Do white American people like when asked about their ancestry during first dates? Why or why not?

I'm curious. It just doesn't feel the same. I'm Dominican but going out on a date with a white guy for the first time. I like learning about new cultures but it almost just feels awkward to about it. Please break it down for me. I don't know if I'm overthinking it.

I wouldn't mind, but I also wouldn't have much to talk about, concerning my ancestry, either.

I'm a mutt, for lack of a better term, as I have no less than six distinct nationalities in my family history. As an American, none of their cultures are of any particular importance to me, nor do they have any influence on me.

I could tell my date about my local culture, but my ancestor's culture is meaningless to me. It's not that I don't know anything about, or that I don't care, it's just that none of those cultures are mine.

I'm white (but no an American) but I would not mind if I was asked. I often ask others, even strangers sometimes. It's just up to the person if they find the question impolite or they don't mind.
