I asked him how he feels about being exclusive and he says we are exclusive after telling me he isn’t seeing anyone else. Does that mean we’re in a relationship or should I ask him if he wants to be my boyfriend to be sure?

If the ONLY info you have is how the person is dressed & based on this you have to decide if you are likely to get along, personality hobby ethics music discussion wise— which would you choose?

I think most people make assumptions about people on site based on how they are dressed. I try not to but it happens fast then I try to ignore any conclusions until further data presents itself. Really annoys me. Now DONT take this too seriously, it’s just for fun 🤩

Assuming you do not yourself adhere to gender roles. if you do then this question would seem unnecessary and odd 🙏🏼

This is not judgement against anyone’s preferred style of dating. And this is not about trying to change anyone. This would be someone who thinks they want a “fluid roles based on situation & competency not gender, egalitarian relationship’. As apposed to ‘hierarchal or strictly gender role based relationship’

So for example. They do not think they care about gender risks it’s not something something they say or think they are looking for but they have I become I explicably bothered if you’re a girl and you initiate a date or you are a boy and you ask her to take care of the plans.

personally I do not care who does what, I don’t want to control the situation and I do not want to be controlled. In dating like in a relationship I would want a team effort with people playing their strengths which will be unique to each person and hopefully comparable with their partner. I woke it get along with someone who disturbed if there is not behavioral segregation…

However, if someone had unconscious expectations of rigid gender roles, but did not consciously require it, I guess whether I stayed would depend on if they really were ok with things being fluid or only thought they were but deep down they wanted the gender role situation. I guess that’s take a bit of talking and some time to sort out.

I recognize certain traits may be more pronounced in each sex respectively, and I have nothing against anyone doing what they have natural feel for. I’m just not comfortable making an issue out of it and forcing anyone to perform in ways that they don’t gravitate towards naturally just to fulfill the idea that it “should” come naturally.

also I understand my example was heavily cliche’ — this is hypothetical and initiating is a fairly ubiquitous occurrence in dating so it seemed universally comprehensive & relatable. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Assuming they knew you liked her/him

I’ve been talking to a guy for a while and even met him. We kind of got into it on Tuesday about him getting short with me. I thought the issue was settled. Then he started a conversation on Saturday night by sending me a cute picture of him. I sent one back. I asked what he was up to. He responded “About to have a drink with a friend. Not sure about after.” He knows I’ve been wanting to see him. I know we are not exclusive. I know we are both probably talking to other people. It felt like he was throwing it my face that he had a date in all honesty even though he didn’t say date. I hadn’t heard from him since Tuesday and that was the conversation. I just told him. “Have fun.”

Would you stop talking to him?

Just asking because read many comments on reddit about this thing being said by various men.

There is a guy who lives in my apartment complex. I met him through a neighbor that is my friend. I figured he was good people since he knows her. Long story short he has my number because we were all talking stocks outside thought it would be cool to continue to convo. Anyways, months later he talks about taking me out , and me cooking for him, and dating him (i ignore these text). No offense but he's not attractive. He's not healthy at all. He's overweight, works 60+ hours a week, his belly is big , there is no wow factor about him.
On top of that he's a cheapskate and liar. He said my employer pays my rent. Then he goes on to say I'm not moving anywhere unless my rent is $900. Like 🤣 what delusional cheapskate world is he in? Second , why does it matter if his job pays the rent like he says? He goes oh oh I know im just cheap. Why be cheap if you don't have to pay the rent like you say. I smell a liar.

I couldn't pursue my crush for two years because of workplace consequences. But we would jam and play music together every week. In June, I told him I was leaving. A while later, he invited me to his music recital. About a week later, we said bye and I told him I would be at his recital. I waited anticipatedly and anxiously. For some reason I felt like this recital would be a turning point for us. I bought a big gift and I just waited for the day. Sometime last month I sent him an email but didn't receive a reply, even though he usually replied. I don't have his number but he has mine. Today was finally the day. After his first song, we got to go to the stage to hand flowers and gifts to the performers, so I gave him the large gift I had prepared. He seemed happy/surprised I'd come. Maybe he didn't need me to be there... Once the show was all over, he came to my seat to chat with me. It seems there was some miscommunication about my leaving the workplace, and he thought I'd simply disappeared. Clearly, he'd also missed my email. His family then came to us, and I greeted them. His parents, grandmother, and brother (who also performed.) I wanted to talk to him more, but I didn't want to disturb family time. We bumped into each other outside later again, and we kind of kept looking at each other as we left in different directions, him with his family. Just now I emailed him the pics from the performance, writing that he was great and looked cool. Sadly, I don't have his number. How am I supposed to proceed from here? I don't even know if he thought of me at all till today.

So my boyfriend and I went up north for the week, we live an hour away from each other. I live closer up north and he lives more south. So i had a prior commitment to do before we head up north and his original plan was for me to come down to his place and then he would drive.

The way it was located where we were going didn't make sense for me to go up and down again since the next day we come back home i had to go back down south a little for something.

My idea was for him to come up to me then ill drive up north. He was fine with my idea and me driving until he said no no ill drive so i can show you the route.

Last minute he texts me and he said that the more he thinks about it , its going to do damage to his car with the milage and suggested for me to come down to his place and he "will drive" .

He ended up coming to my place and i drove us up north but i can't help but be annoyed about that..
