I have been "crushing" on my sensei a bit lately. Before he became my sensei. I dont know if he likes me back, though

I was just curious on what the dynamics are within Dojo's. Is it strictly forbidden or is there more of a grey area?

We are both close in age, about a year apart.

Is this annoying or hot?

I am a very quiet person, yet, for some reason I always attract drama at the work place. I swear I’m cursed, I’m always alone and don’t get why people always like to pick at me. There were two women, one mostly, that went out of her way to be petty & catty towards me at work. The other one, she likes to make passive aggressive remarks about other people. Unfortunately, I was one of them. Now, my boss is going out of his way to make my life difficult. He requested that I call a student last week Friday before leaving the office and I didn’t. I clocked out and shortly after, he sends a text stating that he wants to speak with me on Tuesday (today). Now, he sends a message to our general channel & asks that everyone reply to indicate that we read his message. However, myself & two other people did not reply to his message. Yet, he replies to his own message & types my name, wanting to confirm that I read his message. However, two other people didn’t either so why aren’t they being singled out? I am waiting to find another job & put in my notice ASAP.

I’m in my mid twenties and have never had a real relationship. I’ve only slept with one guy and we had a thing, it was intended to be long-term but we decided to be friends instead. I’ve lost weight, so I’ve been skinny and chubby. Regardless of my weight, I don’t notice a difference in the attention that I receive. I’m told I’m cute/pretty, not only by friends/family. The guys I find attractive (I only speak to people through apps) are only wanting sex/ghost/have bad personalities. And the ones I don’t find attractive are always all over me. I no longer have expectations when it comes to dating, I really feel like there’s something terribly wrong with me.

Let's assume, here, that it's a date, not a hookup. You're trying to get to know the person.
They're not freshly off a really bad breakup.
They're not angry and ranting.
You're not a rebound person to them.
A decent amount of time has passed since they've been in these relationships, so their emotions are not too heated, but they do have some feelings of love, pain, etc.

Now, do you want, or not want, to hear about their past relationships and people?
Does it make a difference whether it's the first date, or subsequent dates?
If you are answering yes, I assume you want to hear a bit about it, but not take up the whole date. That doesn't need to be specified.

There's no right or wrong answer here. I'm just curious, because I've heard people with strong opinions on this.

My opinion is that I want to know. It's interesting to me, and it's informative.
I would be worried, though, that if I ask, it could open up a whole can of worms, and the person might get in a certain mood, and/or it could be hard to get them off the topic, once started.
So then I have to think, is it worth the risk?
And in most cases, I would probably err on 'yes.' Except if the date was going really, really well, and we were both flirting and having a lot of fun with banter. Then I wouldn't want to talk about anything serious at all. I'd want to live in that moment, and stretch it out as long as possible, no distractions. But if the date was more serious, had more lulls in conversation, I would ask the question.
