I remember. Dumb feminists or libtards came up with this debate. No one ever ever complained about kids playing this game. It's like soccer. You might get hit with that ball. Maybe soccer will be debated next. Then basketball, baseball, hockey, every sport. Ugh. Ridiculous. Kids need action. It's part of growing up.
That doesn't look like Dodgeball, to me! That looks like Murderball!
There are no teams in Dodgeball and there's only one ball. One person is "it" and it's up to everyone else playing to hit them with the ball in order to get them out. They have to try to dodge the ball, hence the name.
Never heard of Murderball before, but looking it up, it seems like dodgeball is like the picture, while Murderball is the same as dodgeball but where you can shoot baskets and get your teammates back in

Shooting baskets? Never heard of that!
I remember we had a variation of something like that in school, but I think we called it jailbreak or something of that sort.
I used to play Dodgeball in grade school back in the early `60's. It's how I got a scar on my eyebrow! I was it, Fred Beesinger threw the ball at me, I dodged it and accidentally hit my eyebrow on a metal window ledge. I was about 7 years old and had to get about 6 stitches!
I never heard of Murderball until about 4 years later in 5th or 6th grade. Once you were out, you were out! There was nothing in the rules about making baskets to get back in.
I think it should be allowed but the foam balls should be used. The rubber ones can actually cause quite a bit of pain when the thrower knows what they’re doing.
Yeah. I suggest wrenches
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.
Now I almost feel some regret that I didn't throw in a Dodgeball picture/movie reference in the question
If you can dodge traffic you can dodge ball!

I always thought it was a lot of fun with normal kickballs. It was a common game when I was a kid.
It should be allowed but participation must be voluntary, not required. Dodgeball can inflict some minor injuries and some modern kids have weak body from playing with their gadgets too much.
Do you believe physical activities (sports and etc.) should be optional for students to participate in for PE?
[In general I mean, like not limited to dodgeball]
Hell yeah! Great fun!
I love that movie haha
Wow, I didn't realize there were people that wanted to ban it. People are becoming too sensitive these days in my opinion.
I love it too! My favorite part was when Gordon got angry:

Oh yeah, back when I was in school, parents complained about it, saying their child was hurt or it was mean or whatever. It's gotten worse since then too. I believe some public schools outright don't do it because of fear of angry parents.
I suppose it's a bit war-like but I don't see how it is any more so than, say, American football, or more dangerous than any other sport (I saw fewer injuries in dodgeball than most other sports).
When I was a kid we used to play this game where we took turns standing against the wall and people to throw tennis balls as hard as they can at you. That tended to hurt a bit. Dodgeball doesn't hurt so much in comparison.
Of course. We used footballs and basketballs and whatever else was laying on the floor lol. Why would you use a foam ball? You wouldn't even know you got hit.
Basketballs would hurt like hell. I’ve been hit by basketballs quite a bit and those things aren’t soft. If they’re super inflated, that’s even worse. 😂
Nope! Considering the fact that I've been hit in the face by a guy once! 😂
Did your school have any no-headshot rules?
I remember one variation I played before where guys’ shots weren’t allowed to get out girls, so by the end, each side had a line of girls on their teams as body shields lmao
@markscott i knoww... It was a bad idea!
But after a few years we had separate play areas
When i was in school we played dodgeball but with smaller foam balls instead of the big red rubber ones. I thought that was a reasonable compromise. I fail to see why eliminating that entire activity (which is endlessly fun btw) should be stopped simply because some nerdy losers complained to their moms that it was too violent...
Sure, it's fun, teaches strategy, timing, aim, footwork for dodging, catching, etc. It is good practice for lots of sports.
And people get hurt in sports all the time worse than they usually do in dodge ball.
Yes the ability to dodge things will come handy during ww3 or whatever apocalypse fucks us
That's one way to look at it lol
The human race is fucked if it's not a comit or a nuke global warming will do it
No I don‘t because that ball is hard and could hit the face, head or privates. The intention is to hit a person.
When you say ball, do you mean the typical rubber kickball? Would you be more open to the idea if it was with foam balls or a softer type?
Not entirely because it can still hit the nuts.
Ok, fair enough. Thanks for the opinion 👍
Our elementary school had it. We used foam balls. We used rubber ones once and this chick got destroyed.
Are you for/against it being in schools?
I loved dodgeball. We played it with soft blue balls
Like foam ones like in the picture? Or are you talking the size of baseballs/softballs?
Foam ones
Ahh I gotcha. It was the same in my school
We also had fun variations of the rules like if a player caught a ball they could brong another player back in that was eliminated
We also played baseball in the gym
Yes. It makes me sad this is even up for debate. If we ban dodgeball, we might as well put these kids in bubble wraps until they're adults. They will never be ready for the real world if they don't face adversities or challenges.
I loved dodge ball when in grade, actually some in high school too. So, yes, I'm for dodge ball.
It's a dying society , who cares at this point. We need to build a white ethnostate for our people before we can decide such things.
I loved playing it in school.
Whereas the most safe form of exercise we did was Relay Races which were rather boring
Fuck yeah. I smoked a girl in the face once. I laughed my ass off. Did it in volleyball too
It is a normal thing I don't know who would be against it.
Why wouldn't it be allowed?
Some are opposed to it with the reasoning that dodgeball is dangerous, encourages bullying/ganging up on classmates, encourages violence-- reasons like that.
Yeah, I used to play it in school.
Dodgeball should be allowed
It’s so fun. Absolutely.
I hated dodgeball.
Fair enough. Do you think it should be allowed/played in schools though?
Yes definitely! We have it in our school/college
Sure. No big deal
Yurp
