I had to do Latin at school, it was compulsory, including Latin speaking tests which I felt were a little useless seeing no one either know how the words were pronounced or speaks it anymore 😂
As an adult, I there are no useless subjects. A healthy person needs a balance between academic, clultural, scientific, physical, psychological elements. Some schools put more weight on certain groups than others.
I wish I had a far more stricter, but understanding PE (Physical Education) teacher. A teacher who would not tolerate unjustified sitting out of sessions.
I'd say Algebra, nobody is ever going to ask you any of those things and it's just unnecessary frustration. Some people say it teaches logic, but that's covered much more in depth in stats & data, and it has info you can and will use in the real world, unlike algebra.
@BronzedAdonis what I'm going for it's kind of pointless besides a few classes. Everything else is just there. I currently only have like two classes that benefit me.
You need skills and teachings from other subjects. English teaches you how to be literate, math teaches you reasoning, science makes you aware of the world and ur body, history explains the true meaning of "why this is now"
I think trigonometry and calculus are pretty useless to average students. Would our economy be better if entrepreneurial and business classes were priority? Not saying we shouldn’t teach math or advanced math, but jesus, most shit I learned is solved on my iPhone now.
Teaching languages like French and Spanish in school gives kids some culture as well as a chance to become bilingual, which can really help them later in life when applying for jobs and interacting with others who may speak that language.
My useless degree in Communications and Graphic Design has- in addition to my Masters'- supported my family for over 40 years. The problem lately is that with so many of these applications and programs, so many people think they are instant graphic designers. They're not. It's apparnet when someone talks about a "font" rather than a "typeface".
Any subject which doesn't interest me will be useless for me. I never liked History to be honest but it may be useful for someone who likes it and does a future course in it. So based on interests we can have many useless subjects varying from person to person
School is a broken system do these 6 classes for 12 years and you might not use them ever at the 4th grad we should be put in classes that strengthen our strongest points and be given a list of jobs we can pick from there and we can have whatever job but those are the suggestions for where we would be the best at and the world would function do much better and career prep was the worst
Pe. Especially when I already walked to school. I don't want to play sports. Quit making me play kickball. It's just making the other kids hate me when I fuck up.
There wasn't any I felt like they all made a positive impact in my life however science grades 1-2 were probably unnecessary at least the topics were I would've much rather had an in depth course on hygiene and the human body because kids have sex >.< Also kids pick their noses and eat it help them with things like that first you idiots b4 u start teaching me about clouds obviously I know what a rain cloud looks like.

Honestly none just because you don't enjoy one subject doesn't mean someone else isn't learning something from that subject.
Math 3, English 4, high school science, physical education

These are the women of the future lads! Women with whom you must build and maintain civilization with.

Spanish.
I learned more Spanish from cartoons than Spanish class ever taught me.
All the specialized math classes: geometry, trigonometry, calculus, etc...
Advanced math (Algebra II, Trigonometry, etc), video about abstinence, PE and music.

Tbh I don't know, I've used everything. And the subjects I didn't use have some use for other people. Depends on what you're doing in life.
Why can't we just have classes that put us in the direction of the kind of career we may want?
I get some basics still apply but still.
That’s what university is for

Foreign language, PE, graphics design and memorizing stupid parts of how to dissect a frog in science class.

@Massageman well said, our kids of today are really too lazy to work, they want instant gratification and immediately.

HOME FUCKING ECONOMICS
Gosh I hated that subject as a kid
At least you had that. A lot of school do not teach economics
It's not economics
it's home economics
they teach you cookery and needlework etc
I was really good with economics
Arts, I'm totally not artistic person and teachers know anyway, that mothers do it for kids in a lot of cases anyway...
Religion, brainwashing from beginning...
A lot of thought stuff is too deep, I never needed most of stuff past 6th grade probably...
Anything needed for my career I learned in after school activities...
I see a lot of people shouting about PE, for me it was easies lesson, I was getting straight As, I'm not meathead footballer...
I'm IT guy...
Pe. Especially when I already walked to school. I don't want to play sports. Quit making me play kickball. It's just making the other kids hate me when I fuck up.
I don’t know because I’ve already forgotten everything
