Would you rather work the day shift or the night shift?

If I figured out the numbers right, I make $144 before taxes for the day shift and $208 for the night shift. But I still prefer the day shift because I have to move too many things on the fam's schedule around before working at night. Which do you like better?

Much prefer first shift... Did second when the kids were before school age to keep em out of daycare, hubby worked first, I worked second... But when they were in school, and also when he couldn't work anymore, I always worked first, till worked from home and then the hours were kinda spread out throughout the day

Yep, he got shift preference cuz his job paid more, so he did 6-7 am to 2:30-300 and I did the 3-11, if there was a overlap, I dropped them at my friend's and he picked em up from there...

oh that schedule sounds really good for the kids but you probably barely got to see your man! But when kids are little you have to change your scheds around for them, glad it worked out!

@Jamie05rhs umm if you read, it said till my husband couldn't work anymore, and he was diagnosed with Kidney failure after our second daughter was only 2, so 🤷🏼‍♀️ but even with that schedule, why wouldn't you be able to have sex 🤷🏼‍♀️ never heard of sex in the middle of the night or early morning 🤔 but what sex even had to do with this question, IDK🤔

Balancing your work and personal lives, people work different shifts all the time kids or no, and still find a way to have sex... And uh there's also always weekend sex 🤷🏼‍♀️ and kids go to bed early when they younger so lol you get the picture? (That's just a question not me being offended, triggered or irate 🙂🤣)

Day shift! I took a kind of big pay cut to go to the day shift.

I was a bartender when I was in college, it was good money but it was so hard to go to class after working until 2 a. m.

10 AM to 7 PM. Don't have to get up early, can still go to restaurants or shows. That be-here-at-8-AM-or-else BS doesn't work for me.

I worked the overnight shift for a couple months, but it leaves you too messed up on your days off as you're awake in the middle of the night with nothing to do.

Night shift can be more fun if there are fewer supervisors and bigwigs working, but it messes with your social and family life.

good point, yeah entire time I worked night shift I NEVER dated someone else who worked night shift. And I had a couple of bfs who were cute and nice, but it was too hard on the relationship that we barely could see each other.

i work in music, so it's always the night shift

last year we had the midnight time slot at Nissan Stadium, it was so awesome

Day. I like getting off early enough to still do what I need to do. My last job I worked 7pm-730am. Didn’t really like it... but it was three days a week 12 he shifts so it was okay.

Oh actually those hours sound pretty good if it is only 3 days! I could see that like work really hard for three days and then take a few off, that might work out! I don't know any place here with that schedule though :(

It’s common in the healthcare field to work 12hr shifts three times a week. Sometimes offering overtime for an additional 12hrs and still having three days off. It was real nice.

oh girl I wish my job had those shifts! Lol. I have to either work either the morning shift from 7 a. m. until 3, or the night shift from 11 a. m. until 9. They call that 11-9 the night shift because the building closes at 9.

My job only has a day shift we're only open 8 hours a day.

I did work the night shift though a year or two ago when we had to because we were so short staffed and I didn't mind it.

I've worked 16 hour shifts doing manual labor and I honestly didn't mind it.

Yeah I totally agree, I had no choice when I was in school because I had to work at night to fit it around class. But now, defo day shift.

Day shift I like early morning rising. But currently I'm in night shift mode. Personally I wouldn't want to do night shift. Get creepy vibes walking to my car at night. Never feel 100% safe doing that.

My body and health is a lot better on day shift.
When I'm on nights it can get lonely since I'm already 4 hours behind my friends on the east coast and a lot of people are asleep on my nights off.

Night shift because that leaves the days free to do other things. When working during the daytime, everything is usually closed by the time I get off.
