Much prefer first shift... Did second when the kids were before school age to keep em out of daycare, hubby worked first, I worked second... But when they were in school, and also when he couldn't work anymore, I always worked first, till worked from home and then the hours were kinda spread out throughout the day

Day shift! I took a kind of big pay cut to go to the day shift.
I was a bartender when I was in college, it was good money but it was so hard to go to class after working until 2 a. m.
10 AM to 7 PM. Don't have to get up early, can still go to restaurants or shows. That be-here-at-8-AM-or-else BS doesn't work for me.
I worked the overnight shift for a couple months, but it leaves you too messed up on your days off as you're awake in the middle of the night with nothing to do.
Night shift can be more fun if there are fewer supervisors and bigwigs working, but it messes with your social and family life.

When I'm on nights it can get lonely since I'm already 4 hours behind my friends on the east coast and a lot of people are asleep on my nights off.Night shift because that leaves the days free to do other things. When working during the daytime, everything is usually closed by the time I get off.
