From a society point of view No. From a bullies point of view Yes, he or she get a power trip by being the asholes they are. It doesn't help the bullied in any shape or form. They will just be mentally damaged people in one way or more. They can recover and live a good life but the scares will be there.
I was bullied as a kid. I was fat and out of shape. It made me join a gym and get into weight training. I started in the 9th grade and by the time I was in 11th grade the football coach asked me to go out for the team. I have been a gym rat ever since. I guess it did serve a purpose.

No. Me being a strong person today has nothing to do with bullying. It just happened through personal experiences. Being bullied made me feel excluded out. To this day, i feel that exclusion. My main bully was this girl who everyone used to like as she grow up. I hated her. But ya i got my revenge by seeing the guy she love reject her raw due to her looks and her breaking down. So i guess you get something out of bullying
sad thing is for example some kid has been beaten unconcious in school and school was like eh lets talk it out surely it will be fine with some detention bitch please that is an assault also it should be the bully changing schools the the bullied one as it seems to now
Sorry Poppy I have to disagree with you on this one. I've worked in corporate America, and the bullying just evolved from physical into politics and backstabbing, but believe me, it's alive and well.
nope i had some girls that did bully me and some. one girl threated me to break up with a guy that i was in a relationship in college and same thing happen with each guy that I had , the girls only bully me and being very disrespectful and now I do not see a point of having friends with women. so no it make people more fear to around people. grown up with having a learning disabilities highs school and college and it happen more in college then did in high school.
It doesn't serve purpose. It is just you got to get to know bully. 80 to 90 percent of time they have hard lives and take it out on you. They have zero control at home but in school or workplace assert their dominance over you. Everyone has a story. Get to know theirs it might change your life.
They're all basically full of excuses. Honestly this might sound mean but I don't care if they have a bad life. Many other people with rocky childhood don't take it out on others. You can't even use the ''but I had a terrible childhood'' in courts so why must we really try to understand them? They're still responsible for their actions.
I am not defending them. I am just someone that understands and like like to see the world change in a positive way. Have you ever said hi to a stranger? Or said excuse me you are awesome to a stranger. Or compliment them. It can make someone's day. You never know what someone is going through. Martin Luther king had a dream that we are far from but I hope one day will come to fruition.
Never a positive one. Those innovators and nerds would still have been able to do good stuff (and maybe encouraged others), without having had a shitty adolescence, and the school shooters wouldn't have had an excuse.
Maybe, or maybe it provided the motivation. Would the school shootings be worth it for all the innovations we gained? I’m just spouting off during a hangover :)
It teaches you that there are shitty people in the world and you’ll need to learn how to navigate that. On top of that they will get most of what they want in life so you will need to learn to accept that because it’s not like the movies where the bully gets taught a lesson, etc.
Yes it does, you need to be treated badly to understand that there is evil in the world. You need to learn to withstand suffering and fight off hate in your heart.
I grew up with autism so I know what bullying is, although I was strong enough thanks to martial arts that almost nobody physically assaulted me.
Yeah, some kids need to be bullied at least once. Violence usually isn't the answer but some kids are assholes for the sake of it and hurt others just because they can AND THEY DESERVE TO BE PUNCHED IN THE MOUTH. I knew one kid who I did just that to, and in private the vice principal even thanked me. The fact is some people need to know there's a bigger fish or else they'll go around until they learn.
Bullying is never good, I've seen people suffering long term trauma from it, left with permanent injuries or even commit suicide from it. And for what? Cause the child liked something the others didn't?
Responding to the update, a kid bullied me back in highschool and it's not helped me grow in any ways. Honestly my life would be no different from what it is now if I hadn't been bullied. All it's done for me is dislike that dude and never want to forgive him. He's the only person from my old class that I'm not friends with and never will be.
Actually not really, like I said, that bully contributed nothing to my life, good or bad. And I didn't deal with him, I avoided him all the time. Nowadays I don't even acknowledge him as a person.
When I got bullied in high school I went to see the school's mental health therapist. It really helped to talk through things with her. I learned about people and myself.

I was bullied. Today, as an adult, I could snap your fucking neck if you crossed me. I would end up in jail and you would still be lying on the ground waiting for the animal control people to come scrape you up only to later realize that you are a human and not a dead deer that was hit by a car.
As a victim of bullying I can definitely corroborate that bullying shapes people. . Being bullied made me shy and socially awkward, which I'm still working on improving.
guess it depends on the individual., for some people a bully will toughen em up and teach em to stand up for theirself... but for people with low self esteem and social anxiety... it will jus make their self esteem go worse and make them more shy

No if it did it would be allowed in the workplace. Try hitting a colleague in the real world and you'll get fired or arrested.

Exactly, is it any wonder half these kids leave school and end up in prison.

Does nothing but give people insecurities and fear of otehrs

No..

Yeah but what’s the alternative? Bullying ain’t gonna stop.
Sadly yeah, I wish I had a solution but I don't at the moment.
All I can do help kids who are being bullied.

Such is life, dealing with people. I would bet you did learn to deal with difficult people, and perhaps that bully helped.
Actually not really, like I said, that bully contributed nothing to my life, good or bad. And I didn't deal with him, I avoided him all the time. Nowadays I don't even acknowledge him as a person.
ok who the hell voted 'yes' to this? lol wtf
anyways if there's one thing i HATE in this world its bullies.
I’m just falling out with you guys today…

Bullying served to turn me into a fucking monster
Most bullies are abused at home. It makes them feel in cont
Control
True. Don’t mean to say they’re good guys. Or don’t need help themselves.
They do need help and it's horrible they are picking on someone. I said why they did that not that it was positive
@OddBeMe jack the ripper did bad things, but that doesn't mean he was a bad guy
As a victim of bullying I can definitely corroborate that bullying shapes people. . Being bullied made me shy and socially awkward, which I'm still working on improving.
Yes. It teaches bullied children the art of exacting revenge.

it's bullies that need the most help. i've learned that they are taking out their anger on people because the have problems at home
