I don't know what you’re studying, but I know you’re not incapable of doing other things that you might like. In college you find out different things about yourself that you didn’t know it was possible for you to do. At first I though I was just bad at math or I wasn’t a “math guy”, but the tutor simplified everything so well that I’m definitely sure I’m going to master mathematics when I finish my degree. I was about to give up on my dream job because I thought I wouldn’t be able to handle the math. College is different from high schools. In college there's a lot more resources that’ll help you succeed and as long as you’re trying it’s hard to fail. In high school I was awful because the teachers only cared about their retirement benefits and getting us to pass the shitty standardized test. In college it’s been a lot easier for me. Tutoring is your best friend in college. If you don’t need to work, go to it.

Kind of sucks to be starting with Covid still around.
I actually liked my freshman year, but then I didn't have a major declared yet, so was taking a variety of classes, and it was so nice to get away from the HS BS.
What is your major? Maybe you should rethink it if you hate the prereqs that much.
Is it perfectly normal, but you just started 2 weeks ago! You haven’t chose a degree yet. You have time to change. I sure didn’t stick with my first pick major and hell, I might not even stick with my current one , who knows. My advice to you is to take your pre req classes (English and math classes first) and then sit on it for a semester and then see what you would like to do. I recommend going to seminars for the field you are in and other fields you may be interested in. Make sure you have some guide you through class picking
If you really hate it, then the area you are studying may not be suited for you. As for freshman year, it is a big adjustment and not all of it was fun. I visited back home a lot during my first year. I also didn’t like the courses too much because they are all the intro level courses , where I didn’t feel like I learned that much NEW stuff and therefore sometimes got bored. Wait until you are past the introductory prerequisites and if you still hate the classes then you may not be a fit for your current major/degree

figure out why you don't like it. is it because you're in the wrong major? or is it because you just hate academics / school in general? use these years wisely because once you end up with a useless degree / cannot get a job after graduation, you will have wasted a pretty big chunk of your youth.
never attend college if you have no career plan. never do something that you don't like.
This is coming from a long time college student turned college grad.Freshman year can be hard. You are in a strange environment away from your support system. You are forced the figure out a lot of things on your own.
Give yourself some time to adjust. You will make new friends and you will became more accustomed to your new environment. In first year my brain was overloaded and most subjects were dry and boring theory. Second semester was easier and better. I think the first year is intentionally that way to filter out people who just want a diploma but have zero interest in subjects they are studying.
This is why I always hesitate to go back to school. They make everything so goddamn tedious and boring. Learn should be fun, yet it never is unless you learn on your own time. This is the failure of our education system
I loved my first year as it was repeating same stuff I already knew and all new people who I met with same interests...
There were nothing interesting to me too, I had to prove that I know the subject, so they can show me how to progress my knowledge in future years of study...Oftentimes, the first year is the hardest. It has to do with adjusting to the environment and getting used to the style of learning.
Everything is tough at first. Things will turn around. It's not easy, but it will get more interesting.
I bet it’s ver common, but do your best to cope.
