Is it fair for my mother to make me write two papers that will only give me 5 points?

I have dyslexia which makes this class hard enough & I have a D+ in English on the brick of being a C. I'm doing an essay in that class too but my mother wants to write two more papers for extra credit. I feel that since I'm working on an assignment that is worth 100+ points I shouldn't do the extra credit.

She's trying to help you. You're 13 and you're at an age where you're able to make relatively intelligent decisions for yourself and look at things objectively, but what you don't have is the experience and perspective you get from years of living life and watching others. Your mom is how old?

That's her age minus yours of years spent doing the right things the wrong things, she has regret about things she did when she was your age. Everyone does because when we get older we realize how simple our problems really were.

Try having an open mind. Imagine how much easier less stressful your life will be when your ability to feed yourself or have a phone depends on your ability to do stuff like this.

With all honesty your mother doesn't know the grading system, go for the most points, and try explaining her the situation here
