A 100 greater SAT increase my changes of admission by 10%. However, with the same GPA, a 0.4 point higher GPA increases my chances for admission by 22%.
Perhaps the reason Hendrix College puts more emphasis on GPA than the SAT score is because they want good students that will attend class and do their assignments. Some high IQ students have a habit of not doing that. However, by the time, you are ready to attend college, you may prefer other colleges or Hendrix may have changed their admission standards. If not, when you apply, attach a letter explaining that you GPA is lower based on higher standards and include a few dozen examples of your exams. You might also make an appointment with a dean or student advisor and if you make a good impression, I feel certain that you will be accepted.
Nevertheless, if that becomes issue will other colleges, you parents should and probably will adjust you GPA as you suggested or else by adding 2 or 3 points to each of your grades. Furthermore, I suspect, Hendrix doesn't place as much emphasis on home school transcripts because their is no uniform standard.
Actually I contacted Hendrix college and asked that question. This was their reply:
Hi Kelley,
Wonderful to hear from you and great question. You truly are planning ahead, I like that in you. Hendrix College admission process looks at the whole person. We like to say you are more than just a number to us. What that means is that we have a holistic approach to the admission review. Grades are the foundation in the process but we look beyond just the grade point average. We look at the individual course work from 9 - 12 grade, types of courses and trends in your grades. Along with grades, an essay, a resume, a recommendation and possible conversation with the student will be utilized before we make our final decision. Also, Hendrix College is test optional, which means you have the option rather to submit your scores.
So Kelly, do not have your parents adjust their grading system. Instead work hard on the system that's in place. We will evaluate you on all the fore mentioned areas. Remember you are more than a number. Work to do your best, learn as much as possible and become the best person you can be. If you do that you should do fine in our admission process. I don't know about ANY of that, EXCEPT in my ivy league university it was IMPOSSIBLE to get ANYTHING ABOVE a 4.0! 4.3 GPA DIDN'T EXIST!
That may have been true in your university. However, if you click on my transcript to enlarge it, you will see that 97-100 is A+ and below that, it shows that A+ is 4.3.
Yes, in my school a longtime ago did NOT anything higher than A+ or 4.0.
Current GPA system must have changed
Thank you for MHG!
In 2018, the average high school GPA for Harvard University's incoming class was 4.18.
LOL! So THAT'S why I COULDN'T get in to Harvard! 😁😂🤣👍

Seems like a bad idea to me.
Why? My exams are considerably more difficult than public school exams. For example, their exams are mostly multiple choice. By allowing guessing, that automatically decreases wrong answers by at least 20%. However, I must write the answers--no multiple choice hints.
Aren't they lowering the standards?
@Opinion Owner. When viewed from certain angles that may be true. However, from other angles, there is no significant change, because my exams would not change and my scores would remain the same. 90% would still be 90%. Only the letter grade would change and is not that arbitrary anyway?
If there were standardized exams that all students, homeschool, public, and private, took and that determined our GPA, I would not be suggesting a change. My parents want me well educated so they don't make my exams easy. However, can you say that about public schools who graduate students that can't read their diploma?
Are you 13 yo.
