What would your response be to your Job if they asked to work yet the following week you only have one day off?

Next week, I'm off one day which my doing since I picked up clients from the openings list they sent and i had nothing scheduled that week. Anyways, for this week they called me Monday begging for help for Tuesday. I filled in and worked Wednesday today which was pre scheduled by me. Now they contact me again today asking if I could work for them Thurs and Friday this week. Like wtf. I told them no I'm off only one day next week.

Their response: we are stuck and could really use the help.

Me: I ignored them cause what about my well being and time off for me. Their problem isn't my problem. They need to call someone else. 🤷🏼‍♀️

it depends... if I was in need of this job and was afraid of loosing it, yes I would sign in. In any other case I would just analyze the situation and definitely took my health and well being into consideration

If I had plans or vacation hell no, if were things that were not important and of course I'm assuming this is overtime pay then I would do it.

I get extremely expensive on overtime. They won’t ask unless they really need the help. Then i’ll probably still decline. Ell oh ell!

I do and we are all self-employed so have similar schedules enough to meet up maybe a couple of times a year

For years I worked at a wearhouse with mandatory overtime with no end in sight. There was a start time, but there's no guaranteed end time for your scheduled work day. You leave when the work for the day is done. Could be two hours early, or you can leave four hours later.

I'm used to a job abusing me.
