Does it make sense to move to another city/state without a job?

Question is; Do you have enough money? Do you have a career path? Do you have prior experience that will make it easier to get a job? Do you have a job already picked out? Etc.
Those are all questions to consider. If you can check “yes” to all of those, then yes it would make sense. It would just be easier to move if that was the case.
I answered no to all those questions. However the apartment complex that I applied to the rent is based on income in which mine is 0. I wouldn’t have to worry about that but I still don’t think it is the wise decision.
You’re correct, it isn’t a wise decision. You’d have absolutely nothing but an apartment. Get started where you are currently at, and try to transfer jobs or move once you can check yes for all.
You’re absolutely correct. The problem is rejecting something when someone is trying to help you out. They might not help you again in the future
That is true, however, look at your situation from a different perspective.
Look at it from my perspective - You have nothing, no money, and you’re getting offered free housing in a different city/state? You have absolutely no work experience? Nothing, no career. What are you going to do?
Exactly I’m with your logic. My sister assumes because I don’t do nothing that I could just move somewhere and not need money or anything else. I think the best decision would be to find work then move if that’s what I want to do.
Yes. I made sure i had the funds to cover some years for when i move away and start jobhunting
So you had enough for food and rent?
I haven't gone yet because im still in my comfort zone. But yes I've saved for the past 5 years and have enough for rent, bills, food, potential pregnancy, etc
Maybe if you live in a part of the country where there are not many opportunities it might be a good idea to move someplace else.

depends on what your plan is and if you have the finances to support yourself until you get a stable income
No that would be incredibly stupid.
True but the rent is based on your income. If I have no income the rent will be 0
This is public housing and the rent is based on income. I agree with you that it is a stupid move I’m just saying the rent is controlled
So you think that it is a scam?
You’re logic is absolutely correct however I’m telling you my sister has live in these apartments for 5 years with no job. They give her money to pay the electric bill
Okay so my sister must be lying with the things she said. I don’t understand why she would lie about something like this
I know she will make me feel bad about not coming where she is at. She will make it seem like I don’t want and probably won’t do any favors for me again
No it doesn't
