I’m the only one among dozens in my circle with no graduate degree, am I behind?

If you think a graduate degree will help you advance in your career you should get one. If it is just a way to have a a few extra letters after your name, forget it.
Do you want to go to graduate school? Don't do it unless you have a strong motivation, because it's a lot of work.

I was going to go to grad school after getting my bachelors, switch over to physics from chemistry because I had done some research in that department and they were willing to pay for it. One member of the committee didn't sign off because he didn't see anyone's forms that semester so I could have gone if I would have paid.
Decided not to, went out to work, and cannot imagine going back to school now. I looked into it a few times, and it is sheer insanity with how many courses they would want me to retake. If you can get a job to cover the cost for you, and you're good at academics, go for it. On my end, even if it was paid for, by the time I got a masters, it would be tough to use because of aging out. Agism exists.
Not everyone needs to go to grad school. I live in a big college town and a lot of my friends continued on to graduate school. But a lot of my friends did not go on and are living great lives.
I am thinking about continuing my education and specializing further and advancing my degree and certifications, but I am really weighing the options as I will have to quit my job in order to attend the program I am considering. It is not a small commitment and not for everyone.
I don't think you need your graduate degree just to keep up with your friends. Get it if you want it or need it.
I haven't a clue! Only you or your school would know that. But, I went to college for a number of years with no degree goal at all in mind! I only went to learn the stuff I could in certain classes. From what I understand, I'm about a semester away from graduating, I guess but, I haven't been able to afford going or found anymore classes that I'd want to take!
Will having an graduate degree move you upward in your field or let you belong with the in crowd? Even if you begin to catch up or play catch up years that it takes you to have your graduates they will already be a few years past but they had with the graduate degrees. No need to be compulsive or wonder what if, when there's a void or necessity to your life... Don't question it, Fill it!
I admire anyone who can go through that much schooling. I'm satisfied with a bachelor's. No more money is going out of the bank for school after that mark.
Is there a need to get it, or just for shits and giggles? Nobody in my circle has anything more than trade school and most are doing just fine
Take your time and follow your dreams and do what's best for you.
