If gas gets high enough that it costs more to drive to work than what you are making , would you quit?

I mean if Gas , car repairs or payments, childcare get to an amount that is higher or even to what a person gets paid for working , why keep working? You could work closer to home for less and sell car and end up with more money.

No, I can't give up what I have invested in to my job. Maybe I get promotion

I would get another job that was closer even with cut in pay

This is why I am not working now or quit the job I had

We got this situation with my girlfriend, if the gas prices would get higher, she can no longer afford to work, why bother spending more money than you earn just to get to work.
And there is no alternative, like switching to public transport or working from home. She would have just quit or demanded gas vouchers so she can afford getting to work.

yep, pay needs to be $20 an hour. yes this will make things higher but it ain't the people's fault but the Gov't that caused all this

think of people that sell real estate , showing house to 200 people and hoping one buys , across town

I had the opportunity to go back to work or stay at home for 100 dollars less than what I was getting from unemployment. I ended up staying home.

Me personally it wouldn't change anything. But my mom has said if gas get to high she would start riding a bike to work and only drive when she needs to

10 minute drive at 40 -60 MPH. Probably an hour & a half or better walk. I'm not even doing that on a good day.
