Would it be worth it to spend so much money on gas?

I currently live in Los Angeles and I attend college and my girlfriend is pregnant and we were talking about potential ways to make things work and the best thing we came up with was for my girlfriend to move back to Sacramento ( where we are both from) and transfer to a college out there and stay with her parents. The problem is I can’t really move back to Sacramento because I got a scholarship to run track at the college I’m at now and I also have a lease on my apartment so we came up with a plan for me to go back and forth between Sacramento and Los Angeles while she’s pregnant and still attend college. I only have a year left and our baby most likely will be due sometime around June so I would almost be done with college anyway and could move back to Sacramento but gas prices are horrendous so I don’t know if it’s the smartest idea to be traveling back and forth 5-6 hours each time but right now it’s the best option we have.

Hmmm I would say it’s worth the drive then. I know it kind of stinks but after all you do have a child in this scenario and you do have to make time for the child regardless. Maybe to stay over her parents house for a couple of days even?

You are right- it is your best option. Back in the day when I was in college there was a ride board and kids that owned cars and drove back home for weekend could find other kids who wanted to go to the same place and would help pay for gas. When I drove home for Christmas I had 5 kids in my car. Maybe there is something like that where you are?
