I’m interested in one day buying a cabin and renting it, but have no idea where to start, who can I talk to?

You dont talk to a real estate agent, you talk to an accountant.

The estate agents job is to sell the property for the current owner, they are not working for you.

The job of the accountant is to help you to manage your money and improve your financial situation and comply with tax regulation etc, they are working for you.

Accountancy is a big field though, you need someone who deals with small business development etc

a real estate agent is a good place to start. If it is a seasonal area it might be hard to make enough money to pay for the mortgage.

The cost of lumber seems to fluctuate too. It definitely takes time but you really just need to buy the basics and go from there. Insulation, wood, flooring, windows, mud, and the power tools and measuring tape.
