What was the thing you swore you'd be doing by now, that you aren't?

When I was in 4th grade, I decided I wanted to be a teacher. I decided this so hard, that I wrote a letter to my 4th grade teacher asking her what I should do, and deliberately said I know I have to go to college and I'm still little but is there anything I can do right now? she also happened to be my first favorite teacher, thus inspiring me to be in such a position, and feeling comfortable to share this openly with her. I got to do some things with younger grades and it was a great thing, not necessarily tutoring, but just being with them and seeing how I fit in a group setting. What happened afterwards was more that, I understood being a teacher is being an educator, and I wasn't big on education, I loved connecting with others, and kids were open, so you could just share what you loved with them, and they'd respect it and turn it into something new and fun. So ideally, elementary was in my vision, but, the closer I came to being an adult and needing a job, you needed all these things already just to be allowed to be around other people's kids, and I didn't have the time to wait for a job, and I had a difficult time understanding how to get in touch with these resources. I think i still would've picked it, and I actually do plan to work with people as my career life-long, but I am not as interested in learning a subject to teach it, as i am to build off of what is already in people, and give them the tools to use to express themselves in a way that's good for their well-being. what about you?
