For instance, my 10 hour daily shifts don’t include my unpaid lunch break or my 1 hour commute to an affordable housing location.
I am away from home for 13-14 hour each day for work… my true “working hours”
Contractually I have to work 8 hrs, with a 1 hour lunch break in middle.
In reality I arrive work earlier than the start of my shift, I work 5 Hours at morning, lunch break 30 mins (when I take it long) and then I go out 1-2 hour after the end of my theoretical shift… so in total I work around 11- 12 hours per day, sometimes I work 14 hours per day, especially in winter and when we have big deadlines.
Luckily I have work near home so I don’t have to spend a lot of time to commute (around 30 mins per day).
Different every day, but I’m on the clock the whole time I’m at work and I live like 6 minutes from the dock
I work 8hrs a day, graveyard shift. I don't spend much time with my family during work days because I work from 8pm to 5am and I'm asleep almost the whole day. I only get to spend time with them during weekends.
Graveyard shift is especially taxing I agree! The true working hours extend to the sleep time required during the day! 2nd shifts in the evenings also sometimes eliminate all contact with school age children
Define work. Does that include cooking and cleaning, running errands, working from home, taking classes, and volunteering or just someplace we punch a timeclock?
Good point. But I mean work you do for your place of employment that you are Compensated for via wages
I'm monetarily compensated for about 40 hours per week.

Mine change depending on the week - so it's hard to say! Plus I'd have to factor in my classes...
My official hours are 6-10am five days a week, but rarely get away on time,,,
I work 56 a week and 28 hours of working on my personal work. Like practicing drawing or learning something.
