What would help schools/teachers do their jobs better/safer?

Ya know with how parenting is in today's society, ( U. S. resident here ). Not all parents are being good parents to their kids and teaching them how to be good, well behave kids. We see this in schools across the states. Several teachers have said that students are awful, rather it be not showing up to class, being rude/ an asshole, and stop other kids who truly want to learn from learning. Punishments like silent lunch room, telling them to go to the office, stuff like that isn't doing anything or helping anyone. What should be done to give these kids a better life and a understanding of why school is important?

It is interesting for me to read that, because when I was in elementary school, we ate lunch is absolute silence. There was no talking allowed. If fact when we sat down at the lunch table, the seats were staggard so that direct eye contact was not possible with the person sitting across from you. When lunch was over, we stood up and then filed out of the cafeteria, once again is absolute silence.

I suppose it was like a prison, but this was the SOP.

It neds to start with responsible parenting at home. and not letting parents slide by with doing the minimal that they can. And we need to stop saying it's okay t have single parent homes. On average, kids from two-parent homes always do better.

First, school needs to stop being about indoctrination and should return to education.
