How do you hand in your notice?

Best way is to have a sitdown chat with your boss that you'd like to leave, and then formalize that with a letter to your boss and send a copy to HR. It's important to give 2 weeks notice, and also good (and professional) to leave any information about things you're working on that aren't finished so that someone else can finish after you leave.

Some companies may ask you to leave immediately, and leave everything behind, so if you have any personal items in your workspace (ex: office), it's probably a good idea to start taking them home before you chat with your boss.

Hand in your notice two weeks before you plan on leaving. Nothing else to it. They may want to talk to you as far as why you’re leaving, try to convince you to stay. Doesn’t mean they have to let you work the last two weeks. Kind of a shitty thing. Just write some simple n sweet. As of this date I so n so am putting in my two weeks notice.

If they be cool with me, I go to the boss and just hand it.

If they have been total inconsiderate assholes who have left me with no answers, mosquito bites, unbearable amounts of stress, yeah can go fk ya self. I'll just walk out and let you figure it out. And if they try to call me, i'll say "Nah, i'm done. I quit." And hang up.

It depends on the company. I treat people with the same amount of respect they give me. With my last employer, that meant posting a YouTube link of Johnny Paycheck singing “Take This Job and Shove It” on a group text.

I would go directly to the boss or HR. And thank them for the opportunity to work there but it's time to move on..
