How do I construct my resignation letter?

Hello, Everyone; I need some advice on constructing my resignation letter.
I currently work at a non-profit as a coordinator and began in this role in February 2022. Honestly, the job was incredibly toxic, with the executive director causing me incredible stress as the only coordinator in the office. We do not have a human resource administrator, as the solely individual working at the office is the executive director, myself and an administrative assistant hired last week, as the other one resigned.

I recently received a government internship offer that I'm taking, which will begin at the end of the month.

I plan on emailing my resignation this week and would appreciate advice on constructing the letter.

I don’t know if you have ever seen the British comedy Are you being served? But your letter reminds me of the one the senior salesman wrote to the store’s owner. I’ll write it to you and you might get a laugh or you might can use it and alter it to your specification. Here it goes.

Dear Mr. Grace, I Ernest Grainger being of sound mind, having given the best years of my life to your store, regretfully have to tell you that you are a miserable old boot! And Captain Peacock is a nitpicking old busybody. And Mrs. Slocombe is a frustrated old cow!

It only goes that far in the show but hopefully you liked it. 👍🙂

I have resigned from a couple jobs. Each time, I simply stated the facts, like this... "To: Copy:

Date: Subject: My resignation Please accept my resignation effective . I thank everyone for the opportunity to work here and I wish everyone well in the future. Sincerely, " It's important to keep it simple and factual, no need to explain why you are leaving (you can let close colleagues know that verbally) and make sure you don't burn any bridges.

You could say that due to unexpected medical delays and procedural emotional challenges you did not feel fully adapted to coordinate and manage, you no longer believed you were the ideal fit for the role you were hired for, but you were grateful for the growth and life lessons this honourable job had given you and had done your best to provide the essential functions you were paid to serve. You trust the wise managers will be capable enough to attract new talent and endorse their search for a replacement as you experiment with your new calling, that has grappled you and captured your involuntary interest.
