I'm almost 30. I wanted to do law.
I am definitely adept at it. But it's too late it's a 3-year program.

You're fine, it's not too late for a three year program at all.
I spent over a decade in fire, I decided to go back to school for nursing. 3 years = one year of prerequisites and getting my EMT license active, 2 years of nursing school. I'm at roughly the 1/2 way mark now (I'm 45). I also decided to take on a BSN program so that adds a year, that will be done end of 2024. I may also decide later to get my MSN or my CRNA license (a doctorate), but that's another 2-4 years so I'm taking it one step at a time right now.
But seriously, 30? You have all the time in the world. There are literally 65 year olds out there starting their doctoral degrees.
You are aware that most people who go to law school dont end up being very successful?
What exactly draws you to the idea of being a lawyer?
I've known people who went to law school at far older age. The problem isn't your age but the nature of the profession your seeking to enter.
It's an expensive degree in a popular profession with too many applicants. You would have to be exceptionally talented or well connected to be particularly successful.
Nah you just need good grades.
Hush , don’t project your fears on someone else
@Chelsdope0 If you think you can do better than most others and you really like the profession go ahead.
I don’t think. I believe and I know.
Your instinct is correct, it is never too late. By now you should also know how quickly time passes and that three years will be up before you know it. You'll be 33 with a law degree or 33 without a law degree. Your choice!
Ask yourself this question: do you want to spend the rest of your life wondering what might have been? Or are you willing to be cause in the matter of changing your life.
You have one life do what makes you happy and do not look back!
You young lady are a very smart woman.
Hmm, sorry if I sound judgmental to ask this but why do you want to do law? Law sounds cool, defending people and all but once you get into it, it might be boring and dreadful and not for everybody. My friend said she wanted to defend people and studied paralegal, got a job and quit after a year. So I think you really should think about it. I think you should give it a try though just to see if you like it so you have no regrets.
Honestly? I always liked the law. I don't know if i would like working in it, but the education side of it I would be fascinated by.

When it comes to education, the idea of it being too late is a myth that people have carried for so long. Obviously with good reason.
At 30 you are still in the young age group. You can still do law and go on to get the job of your dreams once you graduate.
You now just have to have the resilience to be around young people with less experience in life as you do you law degree. They may get on your nerves with their immaturity, bit remember you are there for one reason and one reason alone. To get an education. If you can do that, you might just find out which surprisingly tends to be the case, that you will be of more value in the work place than some one younger than you because you have so much more to offer.
Go for it girl. Don't be discouraged. I am definitely in support.
It's really only about how high competition you got in a field if it's to late or not. In most cases it not to late when you are only 30. If you are educating for something people are screaming after your age will most likely never matter. When it comes to law, it's more about geography, some areas its tough other it's a open goal to try. If you are willing to move out to these places.
A lot of us don't really find ourselves until we're 30 or close to it I think it's perfect I think go for it this is when you will be most prepared more into it more confident then when you were younger I say do it you can do it I can hear it in your words
I changed careers when I was 35. I went back to school and got a Masters degree in Computer science. It took me more than 3 years to finish. I was almost 40 when I got my first job in IT. You will be 40 someday too and wouldn't it be better to be a 40 year old lawyer?
It's never too late. I know a woman who divorced at 50 and started school. She has since graduated law school and earns twice as much as her exhusband.
Girl power right there.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste. I'd go for it! It seems to be a passion of yours. The happiest working people are the one's that love their occupation.
Not too late but I'd be concerned about the cost of going to law school and how long it would take to recover the money you spent for it. You could become a paralegal. Some of them make pretty decent money.
It’s never too late to go back to school. There is no age limit.
?
Never too late, lol.
I'll be 30 next year and am starting over.
Nah it’s never too late to study or change career, go for it!
3 years is nothing. You will still have a great 20 year run once you start.
It's never too late to do something you want to do. You're still young, plenty of years ahead of you.
Nope. You have plenty of time.
John VanBuskirk was the oldest law school graduate in 2018, completing his degree at the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law at the age of 71.
I had a friend who started law school at age 31. He's a lawyer now.
Nah it's fine. My sister did law and had a few older people in her class.
You are never too old to go back to college/school.
So after 3 years, you'll almost be 33. But if you don't do it, you will be almost 33 anyway. May as well do it.
Are you sure?
Speak with mature students in program get a few perspectives.
It's never too late to start something you always wanted to.
Fuck no. You are plenty young for law school.
Lol no I know people who got outta LE who became lawyers at late 30's and 50's.
