Both, it is a unique time in life, you will miss it when it is over. However I did have horrible stress both about classes, tests, papers etc but also I had some incredibly stressful personal stuff that was mostly self inflicted.
Socially it is kind of like you are an adult and kind of like you are not, it's this unique phase that lets you learn more about yourself and you make really strong friendships since everybody in that situation together.

It is equally both.
I have had more fun than i could ever imagine and made life long friends fashoo.
But the stress of deadlines, trying to keep up with practices games, work , weight training, studying it can also get overwhelmingly stressful.

It definitely can be like spinning plates and juggling things.

I can't even imagine. The level that they want you to compete at and all the school work as well. I wouldn't have been able to do anything like that.

It was awsome, everyone I was around was a serious student, no distractions at all. I could focus, learn... it was all day work. stressful... no fun.
that's how it should be... and thats why I refuse to pay for peoples college (by writing off their debt), unless they can prove their did everything in their power to excel at school in a degree that would get them a decent job.

Pretty stressful most of the way through. But on the other hand I have some excellent fun memories also! Mostly Friday and Saturday evenings when you could set the books aside for the evening. Met a lot of people, dated a lot. I am in touch with several of my college friends to this day.

Mixed.
I was so stressed during my higher Preparatory Examination: which was what made me qualify for my BA. (Danish education system)
During my BA, I had stressful situations, but stressful situations aren't bad and in fact sometimes boost performance; like during oral presentations which you need to pass and/or get good grades on, where you've to defend your research, topic and problem solving analysis. But I'm passionate about my field & the subjects within (people/care work/social education), so learning was EXTREMELY fun, not to mention my "class" was AMAZING, great professors & just an overall great experience.10 Reply I had both experiences. I met a lot of people, went to different places, discovered many things about myself and other people but I also had some stressful moments. Some were with my teachers and others with my classmates. I shed some tears and I had to deal with personal struggles. But overall, it was a great time and I miss college.

I just started recently and for now it's nothing special for me. I don't have that classical university experience either..
I live my life like usual and keep learning besides work like usual lol... but it's not a classic uni, I don't know how to translate it to English but basically I pay, get the scripts, have to learn everything on my own, do little "Homeworks"/essays and send them in and just go to university for the exams.10 Reply Uni life is meh. The lessons suck. I have barely met new people and it's not only cause I'm a bit antisocial and introverted. There are no opportunities to meet people. I see them everyday but I can't just go up to them and say hey I'm Z. I'm gonna get my degree get a mc as well and find a job as a teacher.

College or especially universities are one of the most time absorbing things that require you to put a lot of effort in it, but also your organisation and communication skills because you'd want to ask important questions that are essential for your exam.
A long and weary road. Studying is expanding your Horizont

Be wise with your classes and subject... in other words what you want to study. Most of them peers immediately jump into something where they regret it later and cancel.

Gonna start my last semester next year. Started out a bit stressful, just had to adjust. 2nd year wasn't so bad. These last few semesters though have been full of work.
11 Reply- +1 y
I wish you luck in your last semester.
Not all universities are created equal.
If you attend a public OR ivy league university, get ready to bust your ass for your degree. If you go to one of those expensive tier III private colleges, they will give you an easy ride for your degree. why? because they are afraid that you will drop out , stop paying their ridiculous tuition and attend a cheaper public university.
I worked my ass off for my degree and I attended a public college. It was no where close to a joy ride. I knew of people who attended private universities, played around and still ended up with a bachelors.

The first time around stressful. Learning a new way of doing things. Not only having structure. There is a freedom too the structure. As in, you have class, you may have attendance, there are consequences to not attending. But it’s not severe like in high school. You may get docked for a grade or something. Most colleges don’t even do the attendance think. They treat you like an adult. You paid, your responsibility to show up and learn. It’s a whole new way of doing things

+1 yI did quit college but, for the one year I was there... I certainly had a great time and experience
that because of the GREAT people I met and connected with... academically wise, there were no issues, lol... people though, great times24 Reply- +1 y
just not the best decision, while it could have been quite a lucrative field (chemical engineering, oil industry, binational and already at the oil lands and seas) it was not really what I wanted at the moment
going through college would have been no issue at all, and the position after was guaranteed as well BUT!! I was not really interested in that kind of profession, and I knew very well that the the better I did, the more stuck I would be with it but not content, it would have been forced
also, it was one of those jobs in which you work, work, work and sure you earn, but then you have to working on your own and away all the time, isolating and being on my own is not my thing, not what I wanted nor needed
so I just decided to go with something that would make me happier
799 opinions shared on Education & Career topic. I was a pretty mediocre student before uni, but the subject I studied (programming) fit me like a glove, so I quickly became best of my class and enjoyed the satisfaction of being the best at something, riding that momentum I ended up studying a lot and I enjoyed it all. In the end it gave a huge boost to my career.
10 ReplyMostly fun. Trying to date was miserable and stressful and extremely unsuccessful, but everything else was a lot of fun overall. The only time I dealt with much academic stress were my semesters during COVID.
10 ReplyIt sucked. My roommate made life a living hell and my dad made it worse. I regret not finishing college but I'm glad I left and joined the Navy and that's how I met my wife, so good thing overall.

I enjoyed going to college... and learning what helped me throughout my career. There were some stressful times, like the Chemistry course that everyone would have failed except that the professor wanted to keep his job, so most of us got B's.
10 Reply It was too much fun! I enjoyed my time there so much that my studies suffered. I finally dropped out and went on with life. I was able to finish years later and get a good degree. College costs too much to let any of that educational time be lost to having fun.

I'm currently at Uni, and so far it's been a mix of both. It definitely is not easy and can be stressful at times, but I also have a lot of fun.

I hated my university & usually spent my time visiting friends in another city. It wasn’t stressful because I didn’t care about it at all. Put minimal effort into it & was getting honours I decided to end it and get a job. Recently the university I attended was voted worst in the country. I’ve been saying it for years.

During my first degree it was very fun for me. That was in the early 70s.
Second time around when I was working in architecture degree it became very stressful. Money was running short. I still had fun.

If I would go to college, I’d only want to study subjects needed for engineering. Since I love maths and find it easy at times, probably fun. Heard it ain’t like school.
10 Reply It can be fun if you're not working a job, Professors are pretty easy going in general and will work with you if you communicate with them. My experience has been pretty good so far.
10 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Education & Career topic. Stressful. Expensive and they didn't even have the courses I wanted.

Extremely fun. Wish I took academics more seriously as it was the most expensive party of my life with now 100k in student loans. But overall I enjoyed it. Great experiences. Learned a lot about life living alone for first time

It was stressful. There wasn't Anything fun in it other than me making my own money in parallel. Last i recall i was the only student with a full time job from start to finish. I didn't have middle class parents living in the city. I lived alone.

I used to go there to sell the papers I'd write for the rich kids who could afford to go.
My way of getting back at the system for excluding me. It wasn't so much stressful as it was depressing because the papers did well I was simply excluded on financial grounds.00 Reply Stressful. Very very stressful. There was some parts that were fun but for the most part stressful.

I had a blast!! Made a LOT of friends, went skinny dipping with the sexiest girl on campus and even won the student government election and never did ANY campaigning for it!! Maybe Joe's onto something? But, it didn't help Hitlary!!

It was okay. A great time of learning as well. Learned a lot and got many precious friends as well. But the the time after or before university was more good
00 Reply I don't know how anyone can go to college and have fun now tbh. Between paranoia being rammed into your head 24/7 with "rape culture", "toxic masculinity"... everyone who's not rich being labeled "creepy"... campus shootings, ending up 100K in debt just to enter the workforce and discover everyone else has the exact same drlegree you do, etc. I don't see how any of that can be labeled as fun.
00 ReplyI'm still going and so far it's really good not too stressful :)
20 Replycollege was very fun!

I agree completely. Had some great times.
Honestly, yes for both. Went to two colleges and it was... a trip. But my first one was not fun. They almost tore my brain apart with stress.
00 Reply418 opinions shared on Education & Career topic. It was mostly stress. Took up a lot of my years and didn’t end up being worth much. I wish I hadn’t gone.

Both lol but I loved the independence that came with college. No parents in your ear 24/7
Like everything else in life college teaches you balance and time management.

00 Reply 2.9K opinions shared on Education & Career topic. I was always running out of money. I had to drop out twice. I strugled the whole time. It reallly wasn't like the movie Animal House.
00 ReplyHalf the career schools I went to, thaught nothing useful related to the job we were supposed to study for. That makes the entire defenition of a school, a joke and a waste of money.
00 Reply532 opinions shared on Education & Career topic. A lot of stress but if you do flip cards after class you can ace finals
10 ReplyUniversity was not good as college for sure I had my best time in college...
10 ReplyAt that time it was mostly stressful and not much fun, but I believe the experience was important for me to be independent (in some way). Looking back to these days now I believe the stress was nothing compared to nowadays (job stress).
00 Reply- Anonymous(30-35)+1 y
I don't know it was normal. it was pretty fast paced and you couldn't miss a class or you'd be so far behind.

00 Reply Stressful at first. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and still keep in contact with many of my classmates/friends and professors.
