Parents wanting their adult children to go to the University of their liking is a totally dumb concept in my opinion. They usually want them to go the the college that "they" went to, or they want them to go to a prestigious college that is way beyond what they are qualified for. I saw that when I was at the University. Since the college that I went to had a dental school, a lot of dads who were dentists would send their 18 year old daughters there as "pre-dent", when in reality, their daughter had no interest in becoming a dentist. Usually they would come back home after the first year. LOL

Nope. Productive and following their dreams, yes. There are many paths outside of university. Apprenticeship, vocational or trade schools, internships the military or law enforcement.

I am opposed to them getting involved in a heavy relationship that will put their voyage of self discovery on hold. I want them to find themselves before they start making some stupid boy a priority.

No, I wouldn't. It's something that should be only their decision, and I won't have a say in it. I'd support them in whatever they chose. They don't even have to go to Uni if they don't want. I wouldn't force anything on them.

No, I would never do that. Once they're adults they are free to make their own choices. Besides, not everyone wants or needs to go to college.

I don't have kid but if I did my answer would be no. Parents who do things like this are trying to live their dreams through their kids which is messed up.

Nope. I dropped out of university before Sophomore year because I was already making more from my business than my desired degree would ever be worth. As long as the child had a vision I would not care.

Not at all. I would hope they would get into a good college but if they didn't, I wouldn't hold it against them. I would just hope they would get into a college they liked and continue their education.

Of course not. I only did one year uni, same as my dad. Both my mom and sister have degrees and more. Lots of other ways to make a good living

I will want them to follow their hearts and dreams. I would suggest college,(in general), but you don’t always need college for your dream job.
