My parents kept pressuring me to get a job, how should I deal with it?

I just graduated and i am 23 this year, and i really want to take a breather from studying or working and spend time with my grandma or just some alone time. Working is essential and i do want a job after a few months when i'm done resting and chasing some of my lost hobbies. Gotta live a little you know?

They kept asking me when i'm getting a job or interview every other day and i'm already applying everyday but wasn't very successful.

Just fyi i'm paying for my own expenses and tuition fee from university, so it's not like i'm living off them at the moment. I guess i just want some consolation from someone in this community. Any nice words will help me greatly...

your parents are right. it is understandable that you feel the need to take a breather and go for your hobbies and your loved ones. and it is good that you're paying for your shit yourself.

but i know how HR works. if they see a significant time of activity that is not relevant to your degree, that reduces your chances of being invited to a job interview significantly and things like "i just needed a breather from univerity to be with my family" is a terrible explanation. not in terms of you being morally wrong of course. i do understand how you feel and it's totally fine. but HR wants a reliable worker. they don't care about your humanity.

taking time off from your career is NOT a good look on your CV. at least try to get a part time occupation in the field. the more time you did nothing after you got your degree, the worse for your chances to get a job.

In today's world you can't afford to fuck around. You need to be pushing for opportunities now, otherwise you're going to miss out. Having "personal time"on your CV doesn't impress anyone unfortunately.

I don't know if you read the last paragraph, but like i said i'm paying for everything right now. My own living expenses and university loan

How did you pay for college when you don't have a job? I had a job and I was not able to make enough to cover tuition.

I have savings from my work while studying. It is enough to pay off my fees fully, and keep me going. It wasn't easy though, making that money

Okay, you should be proud of yourself. Your parents should be ad well. You should take some time to decompress but start the job search now. It may take a few months to find what you want
