I’m trying to plan how many hours I should be working in the summer
7 days * 24 hours each = 168 hours in a week.
7 days * 8 hours of sleep = 56 hours sleeping each week.
168 - 56 = 112 hours awake.
112 - 98= 14 hours of "free time" in a week, or 2 hours per day. That 2 hours per day you will have is going to be all the time you have to wake up, get ready for work, feed yourself, shower, brush and floss, drive to work in the morning. And after work to get home, shower, prepare food and eat it, then get to bed to get the sleep you need to get ready for the next day.
I've worked 96 hour weeks and I don't recommend it to anyone, unless you live very close to work and are comfortable with having no social life, no physical fitness regimen, no anything that you don't do at work. I also worked 112 hour weeks (16 hour shifts * 7 days a week) as a wildland firefighter. It's hard, but it's fine because you don't bathe, but no one does. You eat on the job, get exercise on the job, everything is the job. So a job like that is fine, but I can't think of a city job I would do for those hours. Unless there were perks like exercise on the job, meals, &c. Otherwise you will get burnt out quick. The other thing about firefighting was doing it for 6 months, then 6 months of vacation to chill and enjoy life. So it was balanced out in a way.

That depends on how badly you want or need the money. If there is OT involved in those hours. Even minus taxes. That would be a great paycheck.
But as others have stated. You will not have a social life.
There is a saying. “Make hay while the sun shines!”
uh yeah... 40 hours should be maximum for a 19 year old... wtf? that's double the amount you should be working. do you have no life at all? do you sleep?

You may want to consider setting a maximum number of hours you're willing to work each week, or finding a work schedule that allows for breaks and time off. Additionally, consider alternative sources of income, such as freelance work or part-time jobs, that may offer more flexibility and work-life balance.
Remember to prioritize your wellbeing and avoid overworking yourself, even if it means making some adjustments to your work schedule.yes it is way too many hours. You are talking about 16 -18 hour days. You won't get enough sleep.
Thats an average of 14 hours of work per day. That means, work, go home, sleep, wake up and repeat.
