I guess it depends on how you define happiness. Rich people have never had to fight for anything like poorer people, which can lead to a sense of overconfidence, immaturity and boredom. Like there’s nothing left to earn so nothing to strive for. Life becomes stagnant and depressing. For poorer people, we’re always having happiness and a big value of people’s character and quite often are more mature and kinder. More inclusive as a result of knowing what it’s like to struggle. Life always has meaning, but it can get worrisome and one can become bitter if worried too much about what you don’t have, that others have.
They don't have to worry about food, making rent, being forced to work themselves to death, healthcare, &c. I'd say their life is objectively better. As they simply don't have to worry about making ends meet.
That doesn't mean they'll be happy. Money won't do that. But if you're going to be miserable. It's better to be miserable without having to worry about expenses than to be miserable and worry about expenses.
Absolutely. They might think they don't but really, not ever having to worry all the time about paying bills and the future and a job. no having tuition bills to pay or a mortgage. Never able to take nice vacations or buy a really nice sailboat. they don't have to worry about any of these things.

It all comes down to what you value.
