I honestly do not care what other people do. I'm an introvert and like to be left out of nonsense. In my apartment building, there's always that one person, there's always one that has to talk about everyone else, and one day she was asking me what I saw on my floor and who I saw, and I said "Lady, I could care less about these drug addicts, drug dealers, and prostitutes around here.), and I was being serious.

Now, if they continue to keep me up at night, I might just call the police and rat on them, so they can get arrested and I can get a decent night sleep! lol, but seriously, I don't want any involvement with these trashy people!

Even if I have a right to gossip - when you choose not to gossip about others, you attract more friends cause people assume that somebody who trashes others behind their back will also attract anybody else behind their backs as well. I had a lot of people tell me not to gossip about people cause if I do it about them, they would assume I would do it to the person speaking to me too. I was in my early 20s when people told me gossiping makes you look like you can't be trusted and people will avoid being friends with you if you do it.

I am usually so busy minding my own business might often come off as not interested.

I don’t usually ask people personal questions…

That makes them more inclined to share things with me though.
And I am always willing to listen, if that’s what they need but I don’t actively look for getting the information from them. Because I am too busy minding my things.

I feel good knowing that people trust me and know that I won’t use their words against them though.

It might be because of my job, having to listen to others in a group mentality, but I tend to listen to other conversations around me. Even if there's a conversation that I'm invested in and taking a part of, that's not going to stop my brain from being curious.

MMOB. It could be because I was generally about a decade older than most people I worked with at my last job or just my demeanor. But I earned the nicknames "greybush" and "bishop"😂 both because of my age and because they'd always seek me out for advice because I'm not a gossip and I'd shoot people straight. You might not always like my advice. But you know I'd come real with it. Frankly I'm not really sure why some of them would tell me some of the stuff they did.
