"Would" is related to "will" but is used to speculate about different possibilities.
For example, 'will you go to America?" and "would you go to American?" are very similar but the second comes with a big pinch of "if you could? "
So you would say "Would you sleep with Trump?" rather than "will you?
English is unusual in that there is only one form of "would" it does not matter if it's "Would you put the kettle on" Or "Would you go to the moon? "
"would" can also be used to make a polite request when "will" seems a bit too forward
"would you you mind swapping seats?" is nicer than," Will you swap seats? "
Would can be joined to other words and shortened for example
Would not =wouldn't or won't
She would = she'd
I would = I'd
Thank you this article is helpful, so could u tell me how I can hear easly English speakers? sometimes I do listening exercise but the people speak too fast I can't catch the words especially shortened words like I've or I'd
Unfortunately, it's just getting in more listening practice, there's no easy way. Try television shows for young children as they speak slower. News broadcasts are also spoken at a slower pace.
thank you so much :)
A quick Google search would give you the results you're looking for
I did this but there are too much using structure of would. I guess it takes time to learn
