@JohnK123 I enjoy it most days. It’s challenging, and stressful at times but also rewarding. I work with a great group of people and I enjoy my interactions with patients.
That's close to my scenario. My girlfriend went to university on academic scholarship and has 2 business degrees. Long hours and stress wasn't for her and at 33 she's burnt out and lonely with no social life. Cooking and cleaning is her stress release and I benefit from her business experience to grow my business a couple hours a day. If she wants to work for someone else that's fine but this works pretty good for both of us right now
I've been with my companion for 44 years. There's times that she's worked outside the home. Now that I'm retired she can sit back and be a Stepford. She cleans, and takes care of the interior of our home. She has been faithful with me all the way. We have had our disagreements, we're still together.
Why are the only answers 'yes' and 'YOU SUCK'? 7 options but only 2 choices. 2 choices that are opposites with no middle ground. Are you really under the impression that this is how it works?
From a tax view there is only the binary option of you are either on the payroll or not. After which there are personal attitudes to the proposal. What middle ground option would you like to see?
Obviously tax authorities don't like tax minimization but it is difficult for them to say that salaries are not a cost of a business. Other ways exist but it is going to be country dependent.
There is an option where you don't call your partner a misogynistic pig while disagreeing to become a stay at home wife. Yet it is not represented here.
I have this exact fear about babysitters as well which is why if I work, it will be from home. The babysitter will be in another room in the house but on camera and likely watched the whole time from my office
If I were married to a woman who wanted a career, I'd agree that she would have total control over all the income, investments and savings that we accumulate over time. The reason I'd prefer that is to ensure that she always has the necessary leverage over me, and therefore the ability to divorce me at any time without having to give up anything.
Children had better lives when mom was at home taking care of them. People who put down devotion to motherhood are part of the cause for the decline of our culture.
If i am going to go to school, get a degree, and have a stable job I would absolutely not take your offer. When I am old enough I am going to get a masters degree in Zoology and become a Zoologist. So why in the world would I give that up to be a stay at home mom? I can't even stand summer off of school! I would die if i had to do it full time!
But if you are in to it go for it. I am not that type of girl so i couldn't see my self doing it. but their are women who really enjoy being a stay at home mom, so if you like it do it!
It will not take much so many women would adore this lifestyle , lets be clear you are not " working from home " , you are a housewife , very conveniently getting paid to STAY home.

That would be my ultimate goal to be a stay at home mom and all I have to do is take care of the house and kids and a few things from the business. Count me in.
That's why it would be my ultimate goal and dream. It does seem like it would be less stressful especially for an introvert like me who would prefer to be home anyways.
I was wondering that too like I don’t know much about taxes but it sounds a bit sketch. I would not participate if thats the case and I wouldn't stay married to the guy if he was about to do something fraudelent. Hell no Im not going to jail for nor with him 🤣
It isn't tax fraud as you would be an employee and pay tax on your salary as the husband does. It is just that you arrange it so the amount of tax you pay collectively is less than the amount of tax if he received the whole lot.
@DizzyDesii I can't pretend to know tax regimes across the world because I don't. Income splitting is widely a thing around the world because unless the gov't says small family businesses cannot employ family then they can spread wages so as to minimize aggregate tax of the family. You use an accountant when doing this.
I could see women liking this when they have kids so they are not stretched by working. motherhood. Its a no brainer then to maximize household income - legally. But I do know some wives who are never going go back to work. I am just curious what a general view might be.

Sure I’ve considered it, but the person I’d would marry who have to make substantially more than me and as a hospital nurse I make pretty good pay.
It is a skilled job for sure.
Oh how’s that? Being a hospital nurse do u like it?
@JohnK123 I enjoy it most days. It’s challenging, and stressful at times but also rewarding. I work with a great group of people and I enjoy my interactions with patients.
That’s great! What’s the hardest part? What is the hardest patient u dealt with

OK. I was just having fun with it
Having fun with spending extra time on useless additions to your poll that could've been left out for the most part?
My sister who's a mummy of four is a stay at home mom. The hubby recommends her to be with then anyways instead of being with a babysitter.
Some babysitters have been reported to aggressive and abusers towards the children.
Yes the mother is going to be better than paid help.
I have this exact fear about babysitters as well which is why if I work, it will be from home. The babysitter will be in another room in the house but on camera and likely watched the whole time from my office
Nope. Why the fuck would I go against my own independence, autonomy and my own desires, just for that?
That is a reasonable view. Thanks for the input.
A woman should never give wife benefits to a mere boyfriend.
true
Only if I am in a secure relationship and while my kids are very young/babies and need my constant attention.
It would need secure trust on both sides to be successful.
Yes but I’m talking about a coercive dynamic. I wouldn’t want him to start treating me badly because he’s the money maker.
Nope. Not unless my money is my money or all the monry we make, including your income, is out money and I have an equal say in how all of it is spent.

It is all trad and equal decision making on spending household income.

I'm not good at household chores. But I can try. Funnily, I'm not good at offic work either so.
But I prefer the latter, because who doesn't like paid labour?
I can manage for a few days.

I know a few who do and they seem to be least stressed and most happy with life.
That's why it would be my ultimate goal and dream. It does seem like it would be less stressful especially for an introvert like me who would prefer to be home anyways.
No. That sounds like a miserable life. Prison life. I also don’t want kids.
OK. thanks for answering.
I'm currently a stay at home mother. The only problem there is that its tax fraud.
I was wondering that too like I don’t know much about taxes but it sounds a bit sketch. I would not participate if thats the case and I wouldn't stay married to the guy if he was about to do something fraudelent. Hell no Im not going to jail for nor with him 🤣

Totally understand
You gotta gave some hustle to get by. I'm sure most women would and find a side hustle to make use of her free time
The question is do YOU have enough assets to afford a stay at home wife. Are you a good provider?
if I were lady i would prefer personally raising my kids at home rather than babysitter etc.
I would be okay with being a stay at home wife. Just as long as we can afford to.
