The engine doesn't need replacement every couple thousand kms.

Well, does it need replacement? If it's still working, you're good- but that's pretty high mileage, so I'd start saving up so you're prepared when the inevitable happens.

You mean as in replacing it yourself? I would say if you can get the replacement engine cheap enough, why not.
