I picked no... and that's my situation. I prefer it. She buys my cars, PS5, my other shit, and feeds me. I hang out with the kids and get to lift weights.
I'm not trying to sound like an entitled turd that pisses hard-working people off. But, seriously... I get to enjoy my days. If she tries to divorce me, guess who's taking the kids and the cash and prizes? I thought about this all the way back as a child watching my Mom do it to my Dad and to my sister's 2 different dads. I learned how she was doing it and I saw the mistakes our Dads have made. I picked my woman accordingly. I have a vision for the life I want to live and it doesn't include hard work just to get divorced raped and then work some more to pay her new boyfriend.
I'm more fun anyway, the kids like me more. I cook better, I look better... and I bet she's fine working to support me and come home to a super stud that will dick her down.
Yeah... I'm fine with her making all the money. I'm upgrading from getting free cars to houses. That ego shit just needs to be dropped and any of us dudes could be living the dream. It's easier for them to get a job anyway.
Except if you don't have a job, you're not getting the kids.
This is what men don't understand. Women typically end up with the kids because by & large even nowadays society says that women are maternal and they as such contribute to raising children more than a husband does.
But the courts also take into consideration the parent's abilities. Addicted or drunk mothers usually don't get the children. Women with severe mental health issues don't get the kids. And other.
So if you're a lazy slouch who'll only teach the kids how not to contribute to society - you're NOT getting them. The courts will literally mark you as a lousy parent who is contributing to the delinquency of your children. And given your comment about " I cook better, I look better" it won't be hard for the courts to prove that your mentality & nature is NOT a good influence on your kids.
@SakuraBlossoms87 "Except if you don't have a job, you're not getting the kids." - This is incorrect. If it were correct then a lot of women wouldn't get the kids... they base it on who the primary caregiver has been.
Trust me... I've done my homework on this stuff.
But yeah all that other stuff such as substance abuse and child neglect would come into play... but how does that apply to me? "I cook better, I look better" is just me pointing out I stay fit and do the jobs required to raise children better... and of course, I wouldn't step into a court putting it out there like I do here.
I would be stepping into court pointing out she can't even wash her own clothes, can't even cook, cannot even clean up after herself and much less for others, and she does none of the child-raising and wouldn't even know where to start.
Now let us look at it from an even more legal perspective. It's a certain % of income/kid (they have a formula). For the same reason, I could easily get alimony, I'd get the money... simply because I don't make the money. I have sacrificed my earning ability to raise children.
Do you see where I'm going with all of this? If you're just stuck on some male-female bias, just say it or at least recognize it. I studied how a woman with no job gets the kids and the money. If I need a lawyer... I'd do exactly what they do, the working partner has to pay for my lawyer. Not working was a strategic move from the start over a decade ago. The way the court sees it, is I've sacrificed to support her career... exactly why it's seen that way when the tables are turned and she stayed at home. It's why I'd get a portion of her retirement if she just up and decided to divorce me today.
Don't hate the player... hate the game yo.
@d_bone_steak - did you NOT comprehend anything of what I said? It's in the first few lines, simpleton.
@SakuraBlossoms87 Right... aggressive name-calling. Not going to read... and assume you just hate men or some bullshit.
I would have no issue with it provided that the earnings she makes isn't used as an opportunity to manipulate the relationship that is detrimental to it.
Example, if I like my job and earn less than her and may be tapped out earning wise, I would not be happy if she pressured me to go beyond what is making me happy, ie, higher education (which I don't desire higher than what I have), going for a higher position that I don't want and doing a job I absolutely hate because she expects me to do what she can or earn more money than I am because it is a better income.
If she believes it can be used as a way to control what my responsibilities and hobbies are for the relationship and house is another one.
Big one, using it as a way to emasculate or shame me.
Those would be instances that would bother me and matter to me more than anything. Comes down to manipulation and control that could potentially come with a sense of entitlement.
Always been the one earning more, except for a brief period in COVID. But even then I more than made up the difference over the course of the relationship.
I take great pleasure when a guy gets salty I earn more than him. In my experience, it's always guys who know they could've gotten more money if they'd just tried harder at their work or pursued a more useful degree. And instead of reflection, they turn blame outwards.
But honestly, it is really depressing that I'm technically in a smaller upper percentile of my country when it comes to earnings. I don't feel like I'm out earning the average, either, so it's a massive crunch for most folks.
I think as long as she’s cool about it I’d be proud of her, it’s not easy making good money, she’s made some good choices in life I mean everybody tries to stick it to you in business yet she came out on top. If she tries to weaponize it though or joke about it in a group setting I wouldn’t be able to handle that. Male ego and what not ✌️
I’m a lesbian. I don’t give a shit if my girl does make more. We’re trying to create wealth and support our future. Not put eachother down and be jealous for no reason.
Only petty-ass, cowardice men, can’t handle their partner making more than them. These are imbeciles. You’re trying to raise a family!! You’re trying to build generational wealth!!! And you moron 🫵 can’t handle the female making more than your dumbass!!!

Never had a paying job probably never will. Therefore she always will unless she's jobless like me too.
I don't really buy into the idea of money over free time. Like anyone I wish I had more money and sure working would drastically increase what I get compared to benefits but I also love the fact I can just chill all day. I can write, read, game, watch stuff what more do I really need?
Sure I may spend much less on food, not get takeaways, not have a car but shrugs it's working.
I think in this case it's more the question is reversed like would it matter to her that I am not fore paying jobs.
Not at all from an ego pov. I would admire her intelligence, abilities, pluck and determination.
If we are boyfriend-girlfriend, her money is hers and mine is mine to do with as we please. And I wouldn't have to worry about her wanting me just to get financial support.
If we're married, our incomes provide for our mutual benefit, pay for our needs, and contribute to our retirement.
I'm assuming that I have a decent career and income and am not dependent on her. But if she just makes more than I do, it's perfectly fine. In marriage, we support and depend on each other. We're partners and best friends working toward a common goal.
The only thing that would annoy me is if it changed dynamics of the relationship. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Women switch up & start acting more dominant just because they make more than their man. Its cringe. Like it doesn't have to change that much about things.
But if my girl was humble about it then I wouldn't mind. It's a blessing that shouldn't define the persons worth. After all, people are still paying her. She's still at the mercy of others. We all are. The dynamics could easily switch & one person might need the help of the other. You never know.
Guys don't care about that. Only a minority does. But most girls do want a man to provide more money.
I wouldn't care about that at all as long she wasn't a b%*&@ putting me down for it or trying to make me feel like failure.
Money is just a means to a end. To pay bills, buy food and enjoy the bit that's leftover for fun things.
People damn worship money in this damn short life we have.
I’ve always made more money than my husband. It’s not an issue for us. My hubs doesn’t have to bear the burden of being ‘provider’ on his own and I get to buy him presents, so win-win.
Her money doesn't benefit me any. I'm far more interested in if she spends less than she makes, because I know a lot of broke people on 6-figure incomes.
At face value it wouldn't matter to me. The real question is whether it would matter to her. I have seen examples of that where it changed the relationship dynamics and she lost respect for him and started treating him with less respect. That becomes a viscious cycle that in some cases ends the marriage. Women are hypergamous by nature, and when they earn more than their husbands it undermines their need to satisfy that hypergamy. I've seen it enough to know it's a thing.
I make a decent amount, even for where I live, but I've dated a couple of attorneys who earned multiples of what I make. Does not matter to me if she pulls $750K+ or is a student who earns $0. As long as we enjoy each other, it can work.
Not at all, I never understood the men who got jealous of their girl making more than them
I know several, and they're the same guys that feel emasculated when a girl wants to pay for something, it even get them a gift, and it only serves to turn them into jerks
For me, I said yes;
Espechially if you have your partner from low class of my community, her family is barely a workers in a home appliance company, no engineers or doctors.
I always try to encourage and push her to be better, and maybe one day take better payment than me, and since we are a third world country, it's not always easy to be succesful espechialy for women.
so if she can make more than me; that means that is very succesful.
If I were working in a useful function, say, as a cop of firefighter and she was a orthopedic NP or some such and we are building a life together, I would accept it as life choices. Earnings do not define your content.
It doesn't bother me. We have a mutual respect and appreciate what we both contribute to our family whether it's financially for emotionally. She has never flaunted it and I appreciate that.
@_maya_ Thank you :)
@_maya_ xoxoxo <3
not at all, as long as she was happy with what she was doing and working for is all that is important.
?
Would it matter to her?
The trends I read about with women and jobs is that the more they make and the more independent they are and the less they NEED a man to take care of them financially the MORE they want him to make and they will only date guys who make as much as them.
I think this question might be better directed at women.
Over the years there were times when my wife made more than I did. I was glad she did.
Not at all, and I am not about to be one of those guys that uses her for it to have shiny things.
I hope she does make more. Who would want their partner to make less?
They don’t really want a partner tho, so being alone is their choice
No way I'd even give her alone time with my ex Co-workers if that makes her happy and as long as she pays the bills I have no business telling her how I feel inside cause she can put my ass outside with one phone call so I'll be upstairs on my PS5 Limited Edition with Sony Extreme Ultimate package And One of a kind VR Headset that hasn't come out yet and my ex baby mama blowing up my phone cause I'm late to pick up the kids so that would be the last thing on my mind
Oh I forgot to mention the controller custom made for my hands out of a Rhinos horn
Oh and ice cream truck money when the ice cream truck pulls up and we smoke a blunt in the driveway talking about our ex babymamas saggy tits tryna figure out if there could possibly be a cure for that and how it would make us rich to make them nice and perky again
Maya lemme get them digits girl quit blocking me you know I need you girl forever and always remember 😘
I wrote a song just for you Maya I swear on my kids it's gonna make you strip butt naked
The name Maya literally gives me goose bumps so the only thing on my mind before I close my eyes tonight is a girl named Maya then I'm gonna blow you a kiss so catch it
I don't see why that would be a problem because we'd be better off financially than if she didn't.
Nope!
I am a firefighter and she is a bartender
Her salary along with tips would overtake my salary, but we never talk nor care about that
In fact she said she fell for me seeing me work during a fire in town lol
Not even a little. On that same token most women won't go near a man who makes less than them. You may not be like that, but statistically this is true.
It does... somewhat.
Thinking about living together, and where she'd not contribute, while I did when she made less than me.
Nope. I wish she did. I'd be able to reduce my hours and spend more time with kids till they went to school
No, we are partners in life, i see no problem with that at all
No, but I make a lot so that almsot never happens. The few times it has I still pay for her usually
Nope plenty of women make more money then me wouldn't be a issue
I prefer not, anyways in both ways she's going to become a housewife cause i'll only marry a girl who adores becoming a devoted housewife...
I'm somewhat old fashioned, i believe that the man's role is outside while a woman's role is inside ofc after marriage...
Yes because it means she would either be working constantly or monetizing her sexuality, neither of which is compatible with a serious relationship or marriage. That's not even getting into the fact that women think men who earn less than them are losers.
It would matter, because we could think about how to redistribute money for investments.
My ex-fiance only worked about 12 hours a week and made about as much as I did working 40
Im not after her money so no it doesn't make a sifference how much she makes. I never dreamed of a sugar mummy!
It would not bother me at all because I know she would be worth every dollar since she will give 110% to her job
no i make a good living so i wouldn’t find it emasculating or anything. id be impressed to find a girl that made more than me but she actually liked her job as much as i like mine. I got very lucky with the balance i have in my career you could say.
It wouldn’t matter. Just as long as we have enough money to pay the bills.
Not at all a problem. If she does, we're set for life!
No. If it did I certainly wouldn't be dating doctors and lawyers.
Why would a guy not want a girl due to her being financially successful? Jealousy?
Why would a girl sleep with a stranger?
This question look at Anemone and what Bros talked about her. It was really not good..
Absolutely not, but I can see it being a problem for some people when it's time to start a family
Yes and she does. Doesn’t bother me per se, just pushes me to make more.
Nope I wouldn't care more important things to worry about
Nothing wrong with that at all. Means she can be confident.
What do you do for a living that keeps you up worrying about that?
There isn't much difference between an average person and a top ten percenter... I don't think anyone is going to bat an eye over a few thousand dollars even if they were a narcissistic ego maniac... It's really a non issue. Men will never depend on a women to earn a salary for them. Women are responsible for 80% of consumer purchases in the USA. Women spend beyond their means so they tend to look for men with large paychecks. Men are far more conservative with their money and don't tend to emphasize importance of money as much. Men are less materialistic in general. It's just a fact of life.

Of course! It would make my life substantially better. Oh well!
Yes, such a girl is statistically impossible and I would never consider dating her because I would not have leaverage.
not to me. but women don't typically date down the socio economical ladder. so it's not my choice but girls who earn more than me won't typically date me.
I want my girl to be a queen and I a king so I’d want her to reach for the stars.
No. It wouldn't matter if she earns more than me because I'm secure enough in myself.
No, good for her. I'd support her regardless
Hell no, I could ask for all sorts of auto parts for Christmas to fix up my piece of junk old truck haha
No; it would not. She can make as much as she wants (and she can do what she wants with it.). Her money is her money.
(And my money is my money.)
Not as long as she still needs and appreciates me which most women who earn more than their husbands wouldn't do anyways.
no but if she starts annoying me with gender roles and stereotypes, it does
It wound not matter to me but I KNOW it would matter to her.
A man should always make more than his wife/girl
But if she somehow makes more than him he should question his life.
I think we should ask, why would it bother you?
No because I'm lucky if ever get a girl!
Not at all... good for her she deserves it
