Why does he keep telling me to change career?

I’m in a very good career, but it’s different from what I studied at university. I am happy in my career and it’s a lot better than my old industry. My ex keeps saying I should study again and go back to my old career. He keeps saying I was good at it and he thinks my current career is “boring”. We got together when I was a student at the time, he’s ten years older than me so he's been working since he left school. Why does he keep saying I should change career? I’m happy in my current one and I enjoy it, it’s also better

That's kinda weird that your ex is so stuck on you changing careers. Like it's really none of his business what you do, ya know?

Seems like maybe he's just not used to the idea of you doing something different than when you first met. Or maybe he feels threatened cuz your new job is better than your old one. Who knows what's really going on in his head.

Either way, don't let him get to you bro. All that matters is that you like your work and it's a step up. As long as you're happy and thriving, who cares what some dude thinks is "boring"?

Seems like he's just trying to control you and put you down to make himself feel better. Probably cuz he's jealous seeing you succeed out of your field. Real man would support your growth no matter what.

Just keep doin you, keep up the success. Don't even entertain changing for some hater ex's opinion! You got this, don't doubt yourself now. Soon he'll give up trying cause he'll see it ain't working.

Maybe he thinks you’re stuck in your current position just because of the money. It’s possible he believes that you’re compromising what you want to do because you don’t want to give up what you currently have and he is trying to reassure you and nudge you back into a possible passion of yours. But if you love what you’re doing now just tell him and make sure he understands
