Is there a connection between looks and intelligence?

I read in an Indian journal that good looking men are 13% more intelligent than normal looking men and good looking women are 11% more intelligent than normal looking women.

In my university, I’d say at least 88% were IB or Gifted or Advanced Placement or Honour Roll or Scholarship or Valedictorian students in high school, and less than 1% of the guys at my school were ugly.

I see pictures of guys from less prestigious schools and over 94% are ugly and the remaining 6% are almost average looking but not good enough to be average.

Being good looking is usually the result of a good diet and upbringing during childhood. The child gets the right nutrients, vitamins and minerals to develop in a healthy way. Good looks usually reflect good health.

While the affluent give their children balanced diets the poor rely on junk food, a child raised on steak and vegetables will always develop better than one whose diet is 90% coke and chips.

The affluent also care more about education sending their kid to better schools and making sure that they do their homework while the poor have an anti-education attitude telling their kids school is brainwashing them and their lessons are lies.

Put the two things together and it does seem that looks are a guide to intelligence.

There is some correlation. The correlation is not perfect. I’ve met many good looking people who are complete doofuses.

Probably. It probably also corrected with physical fitness

Physical appearance is not directly related to IQ, but perception is related to how we value people's intelligence. One example is the Halo Effect.

I'm average in the looks for my age. I think I am intelligent, I am skilled in many things and I have common sense. I have worked and know attractive men and women. Some educated but many were only book smart.
