I wouldn’t “scold” them. I would encourage to be and do whatever it is they want to do.
however I would be honest and tell them that there’s no guaranteed successful career with content creating… It’s hard to actually make a career out of it. And even if you do make it in that industry, there’s no guarantee that it will be a steady income.
There are a lot of influencers and YouTubers who were popular and made a lot of money one year, just to disappear and be forgotten a couple years later.
i think it’s smart for content creating to be more of a side hustle/hobby. And if you blow up and do well enough to make it full time then that’s great. But I certainly wouldn’t put all your focus on it.

What do you hope to accomplish by scolding your child, other than to trigger more resistance in your child. If you tell a child they'll break their arm if they climb up on the fence, they'll climb the fence to prove you wrong.
How about facilitating the child's exploration and discovery instead. Ask the child to research the pros and cons of that type of career and then share their discoveries with you. Show an interest in learning the facts rather than assuming you know all you need to know. What challenges would the child face, and how would that child plan to address those challenges. If the child comes up with the answer, it becomes part of that person. If you lecture the child, it will just go in one ear and out the other.
Yes, they need a real job. For e ery content creator that can make some money at it there are a million living in moms basement.
YES! I can't think of a more worthless career, even if it does make money.
